how are you organized?

seriously i need to get my a$$ in check.... 4 months to go and i feel like I dont know where to start.. I want to know what I need to get organized.

Do you guys go based off a checklist? if so...did you make one up? copy it from a website? i need to find a good checklist...quick@@

all my vendors are booked but i need a checklist for all the little things... for those of you 5, 4, 3 months out what are you working on??

I've been using the checklist on here. If you go to my wedding you can see the checklist. It breaks it down by months left, so it should be perfect for you. I also have a book my mom got with checklists. I also have a calendar that I use for appointments and I put on the bottom goals for my month. Right now just the big things, but will add the little things as well.

I have a little under 7 months, and am finishing up setting up my dj, limos, and working on flowers soon.

If you have all the big things, I'd say start doing any DIY projects, favors, seating chart, hair/makeup trials..

there is a general checklist on liw in the planning section. you can start from there. ill also bump so threads for you that show checklists from different points that people are in.

when we first got engaged, i got a large planner/datebook that had a lot of plastic zippered pockets and stuff like that, business card organizers, etc. i put all contracts in there and other important wedding papers. for larger papers like all the invitation proofs and papers, lots of honeymoon papers besides the actual confirmation page, etc., i have a plastic box for and everything is in there.

the book has helped me so much. and yes, i have a lot of checklists on my computer and in the book but whats helped a lot is that i make notes in my phone under each vendor name like things i have to ask/tell them. when i go to the vendor, i just check my phone rather than having to go home first or if i dont have the paper lists on me.

im not organized..just keep booking, buying and hoping i dont forget anything!

ok i am OCD so i made myself a wedding binder with all my contracts and ideas in it, filed under tabs

i also have a huge excel spreadsheet with lots of tabs
it has my wedding guestlist, budget, table seating, shower list, day of timeline, gifts and thank yous sent etc

i also use the checklist on here even though i do things at different times than their suggested time, it helps me cover the bases

I've been using the checklist on theknot.com. It's pretty useful and in depth. I love it.

I have to be honest, I haven't used a thing!!!

I have contracts in a binder, and that is it. My mind changes everyday, so what I liked when I first got engaged is not what I want today. So I kind of have been flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to getting things done.

In all honestly, I think by just being on this site, and seeing posts that people make about Monograms, STDs, invites, favors, etc., kind of keeps me on my toes.

Yeah I know I should be more organized and know what I am doing but for some reason it kind of works for me.

FH loved Jackie's wedding spreadsheet so he made one too..it has all our payments, guestlist, budget etc.

We also have all our contracts in a big binder that JT gave us.

This is exactly what I did. I used the Free Planner and printed it from Wedding Site and Services. I also use this site and the Knot for the keeping on track. I am mainly on Excel Spreadsheets though since I can use a thumb drive and work on it anywhere. To me, the binder is keeping my contracts in order and ideas... must take pics and Must Play song lists... but I don't really refer to it much. I am always on the Spreadsheets.

i feel the very same! completly unorganized!!! as of right now with justunder 4 months to go i am going to be ordering my invatations TODAY!! and the i still havent even started flowers or limos!! so i know im behind!!!
