Right now I have literally a basket on my coffee table full of pictures, magazines, pamphlets, etc... that are ideas for the wedding? Some of my friends have a binder and others do it all from their computer... How do you organize it all?

well on my computer i have folders online of pics and different ideas, all folders are categorized by what they are, such as flowers, cake and so on.
Then i have one side of the room full of magazines, papers, books and a bunch of stuff...most of them are in my drawers on that side but i have to organize it...i want to fix it all up soon...make a binder full of ideas for the wedding, cut out stuff from magazines and put together a whole theme thing, the way monica on friends did lol. Also want to organize all my paperwork from our vendors

i bought a binder with sheet protectors and put all my magazines pics in ...everyone at the wedding salons were sooo impressed ...prob the only thing that i have ever organized!

I have a file folder for stuff I've printed off the computer or things I've pulled out of magazines and sort them by catagory (way easy to find that way).
Then for reciepts and contracts I bought a 3-ring binder (those wedding planners are a joke IMO) with pocket folders and dividers... everything reciept, contract, piece of paper, e-mail that goes between me and the vendor goes into the appropriate folder.
I also of course have a wedding folder on the desktop of my computer and then folders within that folder for different catergories.
All stuff that comes in the mail that I ordered goes directly to my mom's house for safe-keeping.

well at first i just saved every pic i saw, then whenever i wanted to find something it was the biggest pain bc i had sooo many pics...I spent one night just putting them all in folders.

i made one like that..i started with my last wedding..and just kept it because i knew i wouldnt change my mind on what i wanted

I have a spreadsheet of vendors, prices, ideas (invite wording and such), songs, must-take photos, budget, etc.
A binder full of photos, contracts, etc.. Organized by reception, ceremony, photog, attire, etc.
Photos on my computer (that are useless to me b/c I don't print anything out)...

wow!!! i like your way of thinking and keeping organized!!! i may have to copy sorry i have just been trying to find a way to keep things organized and i only have my e-party planned...
and the files for all the crap i took out of a magazine or printed off line is another thing i am going to steal from you---

I forgot to mention that the reason I was asking is because I went to find a wedding organizer and didn't like any of them. Most of them had pages and pages of stuff I would never use. Plus, who invented a spiral bound wedding planner?? You can't add anything to it!

I use a 3 ring binder with dividers. Then I also have those plastic sheet covers to protect my paper (i.e. contracts) and also to serve as pockets for pictures of ideas. I also have pictures saved onto my computer. When I go to meet with vendors I will print them and put them into the binder but for now, my computer will store them.
ETA: Also I save all the info for vendors such as price/quote sheets. once I book someone all that stuff can go and I just save the contract and any other important paper work (i.e. must play list for DJ.)

I use an BIG expandable file folder from Target. It's got 13 big pockets (for ideas) and 7 small ones (for contracts) and a little pen holder (WOO HOO for pens!!). Everytime new magazines come I rip out all the ideas and articles I liked from the previous months batch and file them away for when it's time to pick that stuff out. That way I don't have piles of sh!t hanging around all over the place. I also put everything I get thru the mail in there...so it's becoming HUGE!!!!!
I also have a day planner.
I am creepy-ely over-organized, I have a system.
ETA: I also have file folders for tons of pictures on my computer taking up mucho mucho space.

i got a 2 pack of cardoars file foxes at target for $10 i use one for wedding stuff and 1 for other stuff like paystubs and bank statemants. they have come in handy! there are like 10 compartments in each box!

I have a storage bin fullllll of wedding stuff that I have bought and needed to put somewhere.
I use the program IDO wedding couple edition that is a life saver for organizing everything as far as vendors, guests, timelines, budget, etc.
I dont buy wedding magazines cuz I dont find them useful so I dont have that taking up space.
All my contracts and other notes are stored in my wedding planner that I got free from State Farm.

i have a few folders on my computer. but for the most part i have a shoebox. in there i have a binder with folders and stuff, and i have paperclipped piles of magazine tear-outs for hair, dress, flower, ideas, etc. i am TRYING to keep it as organized as possible!!

Has anyone gotten the free wedding organizer that you get when you register with JC Penny? I did and I love it, it's pretty nice. It helps me keep everything organized. I also keep my online pictures and files in a Yahoo account that I set up specifically for my wedding. I email myself any pictures that I want to save and have them saved in my email folders under different categories. It makes it easy for me to get a hold of the pictures that I need even when I'm not on my computer at home.

I have a binder...with 35 tabs...and I have a bunch of sheet protectors to put all the articles and cut-outs into under each section..
