Wanted to find out how most of you guys are paying for your weddings/honeymoons? Are you using strictly cash/debt cards? Or are you using your credit cards for some payments?
My time is ticking and almost everybody wants cash so I'm thinking about getting a personal loan since my venue has said they don't take credit cards after the initial payment.

How are you buying?
Most of our wedding has been paid for by both mine and FH's parents, and the rest FH paid for with cash. It was the only to go for us, especially since a few of our vendors were willing to give us some discounts by doing so. We were also in the process of preparing to buy a home, and did not want anything to potentially jeopardize our credit. The honeymoon however, my FH has been paying off every month via his credit card.

we used our tax refund for half of it.. The other half we are paying cash

So far we've booked the venue and the photog. The venue we put on my credit card just to be able to get the points and the rest of the payments will be cash and the photographer gave us an 8.625% discount [;)] for paying cash so that'll be cash as well. Any vendor from here on out will be cash.

Cash. Most places we looked at don't accept credit card as payment, other than for the deposit; they say it's because of the fees it would cost them. My FIL's plan to give some money, and my dad as well. Other than that, we are on our own with paying.

Just wondering where you are going on your honeymoon and how are you paying this off? I wasn't sure if we went through a travel agent if we could pay anything off or if everything had to be paid up front especially to book flights?

for the venue, checks. We gave the florist a cash deposit, the DJ and photo/video check deposit. Everything has been a variation of cash, check, debit card. The only time we used the credit card was when my parents used it to make the initial deposit to the venue and that was because she didn't have her checkbook with her.

This I said to FH I don't want to owe a dime...we are paying for the wedding ourselves. The honeymoon we are using our tax money.

We're going to Rome, Athens and Santorini. We had to put an initial deposit of a few thousand dollars, and another deposit for our car service. Our inter island flights btwn Athens, Santorini, and Rome, we paid for upfront in order to reserve them. Our remaining balance FH charges on his card for the points. We have by sept to pay the balance off, which is almost complete. If you have any more questions just FM me. :)

Credit cards, tax returns and I took out a pension loan. (We will be paying for this wedding for the next 5 years lol)

We've been using checks for the most part at this point. Probably sticking to that and cash. My parents are paying for the wedding itself, and FH and I have been saving for the honeymoon - so we should be able to swing it without risking the credit problems.

We are paying the big things in cash (venue, caterer, photo, etc) but smaller things we can order online we are using our credit cards.

Cash...Just because we can save on the taxes in the sense of lowering the price. Any means of us saving that was the route we took.
