How bad is it raining by you?

FH just called me to say there is a lake (again) outside his house. The creek on Peninsula Blvd in Valley Stream is level with the street.

FH lives in VS and called me when he got home from work he was sitting outside his house in his car waiting for the rain to stop he said it was comingf down so hard he couldnt see anything

FH just called me and he can't get home!!

he keeps trying to take different streets but it's flooded everywhere and his car is really low to the ground...he doesn't want to risk killing the engine.

It's raing like crazy here. Earlier in the day, the sun came out and I saw a rainbow....anyone else see it? I posted a pic in my album.

it's horrendous, if you're taking the LIRR check the website alerts there are a few lines that had service suspended. Get home safe girls! I had tickets to a broaday show tonight, pray that I make it in!!

Babylon, Long Beach, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead Branch Customers:

The LIRR has temporarily suspended service in both directions through Valley Stream due to a lightning strike which is affecting the LIRR's third rail power. LIRR service is temporarily suspended on the the Babylon, Far Rockaway, Long Beach and West Hempstead branches.

Customers are advised to take alternate LIRR service, if possible, including Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma branches.
