How can I get my nails to grow?

I don't want acrylics and I've been trying to take good care of my nails but I need help.

Any recommendations other than nailtiiques?

I put clear nail polish on my nails to keep them strong and from biting them, etc. You can also get a special lotion for hands that moisturizes them in any retail store.

I've been using a nail hardener, but honestly even just keeping my nails polished in a regular clear polish seems to help. When I'm on the ball I try to re-apply it every few days.

I don't have any particular reccomendations, other than nailtiques really does work. I know its expensive, but they have it at the makeup store at Tanger outlsets for like 10 dollars.

Or the Sally Hansen polishes with teflon work good too.

I know these are quite random suggestions...and I haven't tried either of them, but have just heard that they help your nails to grow:

1) sort of common actually--- Prenatal vitamins. Apparently they make your hair and nails grown pretty quickly.

2) (and this one is really odd) Soak your fingertips in milk and garlic....I know...it's ODD...but one of the girls I work with does it and her nails are GORGEOUS..... i haven't tried it yet...and i'm sure you're hands STINK afterwards.... but just figured I would throw it out there...

Get Nail Tek or OPI nail envy (green box)....and try to get manicure every week

I find that when I get a manicure often my nails tend to grow and not break. I also use Nail Envy in between manicures, that helps - and take daily multi-vitamin.

if you don't already, take a multi-vitamin daily

also keep your nails newly polished every few days, i find doin both work good for me..

I have very weak nails that are constantly breaking.

Nailtek is similiar to Nailtique. Works well.

Nail salon people also recommend silk extensions. They are more natural looking and supposedly better for your nails but it is also the priciest. I typically get extensions when I have one or two broken nails. Then I don't have to get a full set of tips.

I would suggest that you get gel manicures. You get that extra layer without actually getting the tips.

I use Nailtique and I had acrylic tips on for years.. they were so soft and horrible afterI took them off. I immediately started applying the Nailtique. It's beena month or so and they look great. Try that.
