How can I honor my mother that passed away 4 months ago?

My mother recently passed away almost 4 months ago. I am getting married this Halloween. I was going to cancel it, but so many people keep telling me to do so I decided to stick with it.

I am trying to think of something different that not many people have done to honor her.
Besides the picture frame or candle...Is there anything else?

Was thinking since her favorite flower was pink carnation to put one single flower in a small vase and said it at the table with me...

Then thought about walking down the isle with my father to 'colour my world' by chicago but I don't think he would be able to handle that...

Can you think of anything else?

I am so sorry for you and your family. Your mother will be shining on you on your day.

Do you have a brother or sister?

At one wedding I saw this and thought it was beautiful and personal...

The groom's father had passed away a few years before. Her favorite flowers were wild flowers. The groom and his brother walked a gorgeous basket of wild flowers up the aisle and placed it on the altar. It was very sweet and for those who didn't know it wasn't out of place, it just looked very pretty. Maybe you could do that with pink carnations?

At the end of the program there was the mother's favorite poem, maybe you could put the words to Colour My World in your program?

omg I am so sorry...

maybe a bouquet charm with a picture of her.
and have a pink carnation bouquet.

she will be there in spirit and im sure she doesnt want you to cancel your wedding. everything will be beautiful on your day, it will be hard but just stay strong and positive.

I am so so sorry.

I love the Bouquet Charm idea...and maybe your flower girl can either hand out pink carnations to your guests or bring them up to the alter if you are getting married in a church.

Your day is going to be so beautiful and more so because your mom is going to be watching over you making sure everything is absolutley perfect.

Be strong for your dad - You two are going to have so much fun together!!!

I am so sorry for your loss- my mom passed away less than two years ago.

We both always loved ladybugs- so I am incorporating ladybugs anywhere I can. I am sprinkling them on tables... and adding a ladybug to any paper thing I have like invites, favor cards etc. I am also adding a ladybug to my garter and things like that.

Then I am putting this poem on the place card table.

sorry for you loss.

FH lost his father 2 years ago and we are going to make a donation to the ALS foundation in his memory as favors. Everyone will have something on their plate letting them know they donated on his behalf.

That is amazing. I work in an ALS clinic and it really is a sad disease. Your donation is great.

I'm so sorry for your loss!
Your mother must be very glad that you didn't cancel and will go on to marry the love of your life. She will be there regardless...

What was your mother's favorite flower? Have all of your BM carry BoKs of that flower, but have them all keep one loose from the BoK. As they walk down the aisle, one by one, have them walk up to the alter and place the flower in a vase with a picture of your mother next to it. I think that would be a very beautiful and emotional way to honor her.

Both of my parents passed away. I remembered them in my program and I has an 8 X 10 of their wedding picture on a table next to ours with a memorial candle.

I'm doing an actual memory table.

I am so very sorry for your loss...I lost my Dad 3 months ago today...hang in there as best you can.

Aside from all the ceremony ideas...maybe during the reception you can play a song to honor her, and have the DJ make an announcement? Something upbeat that she loved, so as not to bring the emotions of the wedding down? Or maybe include a special dish during dinner or the cocktail hour that she liked, and include it on the menu as 'in memory of.'

I don't know...I'm trying to think outside the box for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost my FH's mom (one of the most wonderful women) last year. Her favorite flower is a Single long stem red rose.
Each person that walks down the aisle will be caring one and placing it in a vase that will be at the alter. My FH's will be placed on an empty seat that will be saved for her.

We are also doing a donation for our favors to a scoliosis foundation (she died having surgery to fix hers). She loved the white part of black & white cookies so we are attaching the card about the donation to a large all white cookie for each person.

We are trying to celebrate her not memorialize her death.

she will be there in spirit no matter what but anything extra you did would be a wonderful gesture...the pink carnation is beautiful....or a bo-k charm...i am doing that myself. it will hold my great grandparents weddingpicture as I chose my wedding date because of them. they were married on 2/20/27. what about her jewelry...can you wear something of hers that day? or...

You could consider a 'Seat of Honor' at your wedding ceremony or reception to honor her. A vacant chair decorated with flowers....
