both FH and myself want one but really don't know if we can justify spending $1000 on it when we already are poor!

well, we're doing a donation favor ... is it wrong to give a little less to our charity, and spend some of that money on the photobooth?! i feel a bit evil doing that

you can always make it up to the charity later..maybe after you get some wedding gifts. if it's something you really want and will regret later, do it. what's another $1k when you're already spending so much.
