How come.......

Bridal salons won't tell you who makes a dress??? Today I went to order my dress and ended up falling in love with another dress. I want to show my mom the dress before I order it , but the bridal salon will not tell me who makes it! ! ! This makes me so mad Has anyone else had this problem??

just remind them with holding that information violates the right to know act and i stherefore illegal - it works beautifully!

They do it because they don't want you to go to another salon and get it cheaper. They couldn't do that with mine thought because it is way too unusual and I saw it online first.

My salon tried to pull that with me except with the model number. They told me it was a Moonlight, but when I asked the model number, they told me 'oh, I don't know really, it's exclusive to this salon and we just have a name for it that is not the same as the regular model #'. I thought this was a crock of %^$# because you couldn't tell me this was the only salon in all of NY that carried this dress!!

Luckily, I was able to remember it and found it on the website. Ironically, the dress is only available in 5 salons in ALL OF NY STATE!!! So in a way she was partially right!!

The bridal salon where I ordered my dress (Lillette's) didn't do this. They were really good about telling me the name of the designer. I also went to the Wedding Plaza, and I remember that they had designer names on the front of the bags. So not all places do this. I wasn't crazy about the Wedding Plaza, but you could go browse there (they just let you browse on your own) and see if you can find your dress and who makes it.

I think that I have been on every designers website and can not find this dress any where...the hunt is on!!!!!!!!

Macy's doesn't do it either... but quite a few shops I went to had tags ripped out and wouldn't tell you. I understand why they do it, but consumers have a right to make informed choices and competition's what it's all about...
