How could I get 2 completely different quotes for the same exact thing?
I sent a pic for table centerpieces, with date of wedding and got prices of $75 and the other said $175 - $200. How could that be?

OH IT CERTAINLY IS TRUE! I gave four different florists the EXACT same picture. One quoted $90, Two quoted $145, and the final one quoted $60 - guess which one I'm going with?
JMO, but as long as the flowers stay alive THAT day, I couldn't care less about the quality....as long as they look nice on the table....I have no intention of looking at them afterwards...

I wonder about this too but from what I have learned it has to do with the quality of flowers provided and of course who is providing them.

I think it definitely has to do with the quality of the flowers. Even though your CP will look the same, one florist's may be brown and dead by the end of the night, and the other will stay alive for days. It all depends on where they get their flowers from.
It's ridiculous though how much flowers cost....

it's RIDICULOUS! i am in the same situation right now, and am going back to a florist to re-negotiate since i have a family member's recent quote that is half of mine!! who knows why things cost what they do - people with a good reputation can afford to do that i guess.

Yes, it's common, but that's a pretty big price difference. I would try to find out what the difference is. Sometimes it's not just the quality of the flowers (whether they are dead by the end of the night or not) but also the size and/or shape of the flowers.
For instance, if you are getting roses, one vendor may be quoting you for smaller diameter roses... which won't look the same as the bigger, more open roses. I specified the diameter I wanted for my roses.

In some cases they do raise the price just to rip you off. But in others the phrase 'You get what you pay for' does apply. In addition to the price, I'd look at reviews from people who have already used them for the florists to see how the flowers hold up and how the delivery time, efficiency, correct order day-of, etc. Don't bother with reviews from brides to be that 'love' who they booked but don't know how it will be the day of - things change!
I used John from Flower Michele. The flowers were vibrant, colorful and full of life. At the end of the night they were all still perfect. My Mom took some of the cp home and put them out in her backyard for the day after brunch and they were still perfect. She said they lived for over a week (keep in mind they weren't watered at all the day of the wedding and night after)!

FYI: Florists can force the roses to open wider for the CP's and Bok's and such! I researched in on google after a florist told me!

I have to agree that there is a big range in flower prices out there. There is a big difference if you get flowers in Manhattan than in the other bouroughs.
And You get what you pay for does apply sometiems.
I remmember a company I worked for used to order weekly flower arrangements for the main lobby.
Their flowers were always so beautiful and fresh and the designs, the way they came together and the pots, jars, etc they used where so whats the word? chic? but they were on the expensive side.
So when we got a new office manager she brought in a new florist who I later found out was her friend and they let her because she charged less.
The quality and design of the flowers sucked bigtime!! I mean the difference was so apparrent even the doorman had something to say.
But the owners didnt care they were happy they were saving some bucks.
I think you should go with your budget, but I can tell the difference sometimes between $150 flower arrangement and a $45 dollar one.
I bet I can tell in a Bk too. Still there are times when I will say to myself this is flower arrangement is overpriced and not worth $150 dollars.
I guess you have to have a good eye and be aware etc.

Actually, there is quite abit of price differencs, between standard open roses and garden roses, which are those huge really full open roses.....just FYI, I found that out the hard way, with a $15000 quote!!!!

Yup I can believe it. Then Ive been reading oyu have to take into account the season etc as well.
I went to a wedding where I swear the flowers looked the the ones the grocer sells or you get at the supermarket. Some roses never opened after we took them home:(.
