I have to go back and meet with Spitz & Peck now that I changed my BM dress colors (!) from purple to navy
I hadn't booked them yet bc i was concerned about the contract...it just lists number of bo-ks, bouts, centerpieces etc. with the general outline of colors, etc.
should it be more detailed than this? should it say exactly what kind of flowers, etc? Im concerned after reading some of the reviews on here of people not getting what they want from sptiz. I know i am supposed to go back in the summer and see real bo-ks etc with the flowers that are in season but should i get more details before sending a deposit?
what do your florist contracts look like? how detailed?
also a little nervous bc he didnt blink when i told him my budget - wondering if i should have said less!!?? eek!

Mine is not that detailed either. I was thinking I would wait until they show me the samples to have it be more detailed. Maybe even ask for another conract with the details after we decide. When I get closer to the day I will contact my DOC to see what she says about that.
Edit - I have Spitz and Peck booked also

mine is really specific as well...mine has something along like lines of 'hand tied, crystal enhanced bok made with yellow and white gerbera daisies and roses, with variegated lilly grass looped throughout. Bride will provide charm to attach to the bok'
its really really specific!

I actually just booked with Spitz yesterday so I hope I can help you. They did my contract fairly generally - the most important thing is that they specificed the number of tables and that I want high CPs, as well as # of bo-ks, bouts and additions (flowers for cake, passing trays, candles and rose petals, etc). Most of the details will be ironed out at your final meeting with them.
As for the colors or variety of flowers, you decide on that when you make your appt to go back to see samples. We asked about the kinds of flowers yesterday and they said they don't decide that until right before when they see what seasonal flowers are in stock and look good (in your color palette). And you can even change flowers once you see your sample.
S&P is VERY reputable. They've been in business forever. In fact, my parents used them for their wedding almost 32 years ago!

Our contract is not super specific (we're booked with Spitz) but it does say number of CPs, half low, half high, number of bouquets, differences in bouquets, etc. I figure the specifics would be ironed out in my meeting with them when I see samples, and then possibly in the final meeting.

Im with Flowers by Brian. Mine is detailed in saying what kind of cp, bok, bout etc what color and flowers. But i dont pay them until the day before so that i can approve everything (a week before the wedding) before pymt is recieved. I think they know you may change it the closer to the wedding.

my florist contract is very very specific down to the number of candles and every type of flower in every single item. price is based on what you are getting so you should know otherwise how do you know what the price is reflecting!

I'm with spitz also and my contract also just lists amount of centerpieces, bouq's, etc.
They are very reputable I don't think there is much to worry about because we are paying 3x's the price of other florists.
I was told, you are not paying for the flowers with them, you are paying for the designer. That is why they are sooooo expensive. I wouldn't be too worried. They have a very strong reputation to uphold and they have a great working relationship with the Royalton so they can't make them look bad either.
