We love the Opera, and had gone to a matinee performance of the Marriage of Figaro at the Met Opera House. After the show, he told me he wanted to check something out on the balcony, I was completely clueless and had no idea he was proposing! He told me that ever since I came into his life he couldn't imagine his life without me (How is it possible I didn't see it coming? ) then he asked 'will you marry me?' I jumped all over him barely allowing him to put the ring on my finger.

We got out of the shower one friday morning and I was already not having a good day. On top of it all it was my parent's 25th anniversary. So my FH was trying to comfort me, he sat me on his lap and gave me a little heart shaped box. I was very sweet of him. I knew it was comming, but I just didn't know when, so I started crying. I'm such a hopeless romantic.

My FH put an ornament on our Christmas tree (it was the first Christmas we spent together in our new home). We had so few ornaments when we first got it (it was pretty pathetic), so we were both buying new ornaments and surprising eachother. I came home from a long day of Christmas shopping in mall-hell, and he told me he had a surprise. I just figured it was any other ornament...It wasn't. When I opened my eyes, he was down on one knee next to me.

I knew it was coming any day but just didn't know when. It was a Friday (actually a year ago last week!) and we made plans to go out to eat and then to a movie when I got home from work. However, when I got home, FI wasn't there. Then I saw a note on the apt. door saying 'The day has finally arrived!!' with all these instructions: eat the dinner left in the microwave, pack a bag for one night, wait downstairs for transportation, only way we could communicate was thru text messages etc etc. Of course I'm freaking out!!

I go downstairs and a big black stretch limo pulls up, takes me to the Hyatt WindWatch. I open an envelope he left for me with the room key. Go to the room and I immediately started bawling. There were roses laid out in a circle on the bed and the ring box right in the center. I was crying so much that I was like frozen in the hallway! FI was so nervous that he's like 'Cmon cmon!!!!!' So I go in, he gets down on his knee and tells me I'm his best friend and he can't imagine his life without me and will I marry him.

We were on a southern carribean cruise and all dressed up for formal night. He was rushing me, insisting that we take a walk on the top deck overlooking the water before dinner. Little did I know that as we stood there overlooking the carribean sea holding one another that he would get down on one knee and ask' Dawn Marie will you do me the honor of being my wife?' Actually as soon as he began fumbling in his pocket and said that he had a question to ask me, I knew right then and there, so I was so overwhelmed and can remember the exact way everything looked including his cute little nervous face, but I don't even remember the words that can out of his mouth. He gave me a recap later on. I quickly pulled him back onto two feet and we kissed and hugged the night away!

After walking at a rapid pace from Penn Station to our spot on the parade route we realized it was much warmer than we had anticipated and started removing some layers of clothing. Originally we were situated on a street corner with high foot-traffic so FH suggested we move down some to a more secluded area. There FH squatted and then stood up again (taking the ring out of his pocket, I was completely oblivious and thought he was just stretching and relaxing his legs). Taking my hand he said, 'Let's do this now.'
Down on one knee FH said:
'Over the past few months you've made me happier than I've ever been in my whole entire life and I don't want it to end, I want you to be my wife.'

I hugged him tightly and never wanted to let go, and didn't even look at the ring before answering. When he asked, 'Is that a Yes?' I proclaimed 'Yes it's a Yes!' as FH breathed a sigh of releif. We finally released from the hug just long enough to kiss and look at my left hand. I leaned on FH and needed him to hold me up as I was feeling weak-kneed, as he had felt all morning, nervous about my response. I was shaking and neither of us could stop smiling.

He didnt propose. I did, well sort of. We are on vacation and I said why dont we get engaged. He said ok. We bought a little cz ring and he proposed. Then when we got home he bought the real ring, but I would've been happy with the first one. I just want to marry him!

It happened exactly 8 years after we started dating. I was supposed to leave work early for some kind of 'surprise' FH had put together for the occasion. But then something came up at work and I had to go to one of the hotels I do work for (I'm in public relations). I was really pissed - so was he, or so he said - because it meant I was going to miss my train home and be late for whatever he had planned. So I go to one of the suites to check something out -- there was supposed to be a photo shoot the next day. But when I got there, I saw some rose petals on the bed and I was again pissed because this was not supposed to be what the 'photo shoot' should look like. I remember thinking how stupid the hotel is. As I walked closer, I saw the rose petals were in the shape of a heart and the ring was in the middle. It took a minute to register. Then FH came up behind me with a big smile on his face and says 'so Mrs. F....' and he picks up the ring. He was so nervous...he starts to put it on my finger, forgetting to ask the important question and I had to remind him. My first reaction to this was 'Are you serious' and I started to cry. I knew it was happening this year and he had been acting weird all day so I thought MAYBE it would be this day, but I certainly didn't expect it to happen at the hotel. The hotel had brought us strawberries and champagne and arranged for us to stay there for the night. We went out and celebrated and just had an overall great time. And as it turns out, my entire office knew about it (which made sense since they had to arrange it), the marketing department for the hotel knew (they got the room for me) and the entire hotel staff knew about it. It was the best day ever so far....though I'm sure my wedding day will top it! I carry around a picture of what the bed looked like with the ring in my planner!!!

It was our 3 year anniversary this past October. I hadn't had a very good day, the day before. My son's father was causing havoc. Anyway, that morning on our anniversary, he kissed me goodbye before work, and I was still very upset. he simply said, 'Not today honey' so I said ok, I'm sorry. So I went about my day, feeding the birds, and squirrels as I usually do everyday. He calls me his Cinderella!! Well he came home from work, and he gave me a beautiful card, and he and my son went into the bedroom for a moment. We sat on the couch, as I opened my gifts. The last gift was Cinderella on DVD. As I was opening it, I was crying of course, just because it was such a nice gesture. I guess it's just the little things he does for me.Then he say's 'Oh...Theres one more thing' and BAM!! When I looked up, he was taking the ring box out of his pocket. No proposal or anything. I knew what he meant to say anyway. It's not the most romantic way on the world, but what a way to brighten my day!!!

It was aug 21st 2005 and we were on vaca in aruba he ordered a sunset dinner on the beach and when the sun was setting i asked the waitress to take pics of us so during one pic he said 'baby' and i turned and he was down on one knee......the best part is the waitress kept taking photos.....

October 18th, 2005... FH was talking about going pumpkin picking for like a week or so.. but I knew that wasn't going to happen bc of the pumpkin picking fiasco the year before with my sister, BIL, and my 4 year old nephew.. (FH had to carry ALL the pumpkins and runined his new jeans) bc BIL's back hurt and he was just being lazy.. ANYWAY.... I was at work that day and he tells me that he's going to go buy a pumpkin and carve it and all the fun stuff.. and I kept telling him, don't make a mess, that's all I can ask.. Mind you, I am at work when all this talk is going on.. so I call him a little later and say, did you go get a pumpkin?? and he tells me no.. OK.. I go to the grocery store after work bc I was making dinner for us that night.. I open the door at home and there's a MASSIVE pumpkin carved out and glowing from the candle on the end table.. I said 'what the hell is that' and he said 'it's a pumpkin'.. so I put my grocery bags down and he asks me to check the pumpkin to make sure he carved it correctly so we didn't have a fire.. WELL.. I walk over there and look inside the pumpkin and see a big ring box with a shiny diamond ring glowing inside it.. I immediately said OH MY GOD and backed into a corner and he came over and said, wait, I have to ask you.. and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.. Then I told him I had to look at the ring first!! (he told me he got me a different setting than the original one we picked.. he lied!!).. and of course I said YES!!! and then I began to have hot flashes and I took all my clothes off, except my bran and undies and turned the AC on and layed on the couch staring at my pretty ring!!!

It was the morning of my 30th birthday and we were up early for our flight to Cancun. DH knew I wanted to be engaged by the time I turned 30. We are rushing around since our cab is coming and he says sit down next to me. I was yelling at him---now, it's 6:30am and our cab is coming and i have to brush my teeth. I finally gave in and sat and he started talking to me and saying happy birthday and gave me a gift---the Bourne Identity DVD. I was like--ok can we now go? a little annoyed and disappointed...then he gets down on his knee and says some stuff and asks me to marry him as he takes out the ring. He said he wanted to ask me before we got there since I turn 30 at 1:10pm and it was before I turned 30

I was in complete shock and we had to leave asap and then we had the next four days to celebrate in Cancun---it was amazing!
