Re: How did he propose?

He made me a CD with different songs representing different times in our lives (known him for 17 years) then he wrote a letter explaining each song. We were at the long beach boardwalk and I was reading the letter, I looked up and their he was bent down on one knee.

Re: How did he propose?

On my FH's birthday we went to a friends wedding. That night I caught the boo-k and he caught the garter. I had no idea that had all been set up with the bride and groom weeks before the wedding. The the DJ gave him the mic and he congratulated the bride and groom and then announced that it was his birthday and then said I just so happened to be his girlfriend of 7 years. Then as the videographer zoomed in on me my FH got down on one knee and proposed in front of 150 people. I had no idea that was going to happen especially at our friends wedding. It was amazing. Here is a link to some pics.

Re: How did he propose?

He was visiting me (he is a Marine) for my cousins wedding...............he took me to the country club in Lindenhurst ( I can't remember the name of it, I know I'm bad) and asked me there. He was acting so strangley before that, I knew something was up, he was all nervous like, it was cute. Nothing too fancy but it was so great because the next day at my cousins wedding everyone got to see my ring and it saved me tons of phone calls explaining that I got engaged.

I know it doesn't sound very nice to be showing off my E-ring at her wedding, but she was the first one I called. She told me to she was so happy for me and excited. She was also an older bride, no old at all but just older (30 something) and has a little girl already so she had already downplayed her wedding so much and wanted me let people know.

Re: How did he propose?

Long story, but a good one (i think)

Well, I knew it was coming because we had been ring shopping and after I picked up on some clues I was convinced that he was going to propose that night. I was so nervous all day. That night I had a final and rushed through the exam because I just couldn't stop wondering.

So, I rushed home after the exam because FI told me that to celebrate his birthday he made dinner reservations in Beverly Hills and that he wanted us to dress up (which is not something FI does often.

Dinner was fantastic, but he never popped the question and I was really disappointed but tried to keep smiling because it was his birthday. BUT ...after we paid the bill, I walked outside and there was a black limo at the door. FI handed me a bouquet of tulips (my favorite), got down on his knee and said, 'I love you. Will you marry me?' Of course, I said YES! Then we took the Limo around town.

I still get chills thinking about it

Re: How did he propose?

We were in the city for the day and went around to all the places that we had gone on our 'first date', which we had spent in the city, and then to hoboken where fh lived for 2 years to be closer to his manhattan job and went around to all our 'special places' there, including his old apt. building. It was a lot of fun to go back to all the places, but fh was acting so normal I didn't suspect anything was up. We then headed back into the city and went over to Fao Schwartz because I love it there and it was one of its last days in business (although I hear it is reopening soon) and when we first got off the subway to get over to the store we passed all the horse and carriage rides (part of Fh's plan, he knew as soon as i saw them I would want to take one...I just think they are sooo romantic!) so I begged him to go on one and he was like, no, no, we've done that before, the horses smell...blah blah blah, and was very convincing so I let it go...but after we left the store I tried again to convince him and he kept saying he didn't want to...but then we passed one that was all enclosed, like cinderella's carriage, and he finally agreed! so then we went through Central Park, which is one of my favorite places ever, and fiance started to tell me how much he loved me. I told him i loved him too, but was so preoccupied with Wollman's rink (ice rink in the park with an awesome view of manhattan...we love skating there) and I decided I wanted to go ice skating! So I started to ask him to go ice skating...and he ignored me and kept telling me how important i was to him etc...so i figured, he was trying to be sweet, and I should shut up and just let him have his moment. So I did, and he was just being so sweet, and then suddenly I noticed the box in his hand and I suddenly started to cry, a lot more than I would have thought I would, and he bent down, (as much as he could in the carriage ) and asked me to marry him...and I could barely mutter yes I was so shocked! I have always wanted a proposal in the city because we both love it there so much...it was so romantic! There was snow all over the park, and it was dark out and the pretty street lamps in the park were lit, and it felt just like a fairy tale! (sorry this is soo long! guess i got carried away!)

Keep posting ladies...these are so much fun to read!
