He planned a surprise B-day party for me and after I said my thank yous he said he wanted to say something too and proposed in front of my whole family and friends

We had won a set of wedding bands in a drawing from The Knot...(I know..way to get ahead of ourselves )
So after we order the rings we go to one of our favorite places to eat in manhattan...and he proposed there..*melts*

Last Thursday he was being all distant saying he needed a change, we never see each other, making it like we were on the rocks. This of course came as a HUGE surprise to me- because we have a GREAT relationship...
Anyway he made up this BS story that maybe we should get a hotel in the city, and try and revamp the relationship. The whole day I felt like I was on the apprentice. That if the day didn't go well, I was gonna get fired! hahaha
Anyway he waited till the end of the night, when we were on the roof - top bar, he said he wanted to go outside. When we did, he said he wanted to do this for a long time, grabbed my hands, and got down on one knee!!!!! I was shocked!!!
Turns out he found out that I knew he was talking to a jeweler, and wanted to really throw me off- and he did!!!

We had talked about getting engaged for a while so we had both decided to start saving money. That's why I was a little angry when he thought it would be a good idea to go on a quick summer vacation. I figured if he was so adament about the vacation I should just give in (would anyone do otherwise? hehe). Originally we had planned a 4-day trip to Mexico but a hurricane hit and our hotel was destroyed - so we changed our plans and went to Paradise Island instead. I have always wanted to swim with the dolphins so the 2nd day he scheduled that for us. While in the water, after hugging, dancing and feeding the dolphins one swam over and brought a ring box to me. The next thing I knew FH was proposing in front of everyone! Luckily we have it on video - I watch everyday!
quick note - the dolphin presented a cz - just in case it dropped in the water. FH is very smart :) - he gave me the real ring once we were out of the water.

I never thought he'd be able to surprise me, but he certainly did. I was meeting him at his apartment one night after work for dinner. I come in the apartment, say hello, we are about to start cooking, but I want to go change my clothes first. So, I walk into the bedroom and there are roses everywhere, candles lit, music playing, I turn around and he's on one knee. I almost fell on the floor. I was so shocked. I mean, we had talked about it, even looked at rings, but I was banking on Christmas. Leave it to him to do it on a random wednesday to make sure I was surprised.

I still don't know...We did things a little different...he couldn't afford a ring and we knew we wanted our 10 yr anniversary as our date, so we booked our hall and band...and now I am patiently waiting for the ring!! He just got a full-time job in september so I am hoping it is coming soon!!!

My FI and I had been talking about marriage for about a month ahead of our engagement. We started checking out halls, and he asked me what kind of ring I would like. So we talked it over and I knew he went to a jeweler and got the ring designed and all. (Some might say it's unromantic...but he wanted to make sure he got me something I would love...but I never saw it till the day of the proposal.)
Fast forward to this past Easter Sunday. He came by my house and gave me an Easter basket...made out of pink fur with Hello Kitty on it. (I love pink!) So then he was on one knee and said, 'Oh yeah this didn't fit in the basket' and he hands me a big pink satin covered Dove chocolates Easter egg. He told me to open it, and dense me didn't get it at first. I finally opened it and inside was a black velvet covered ring box with gold accents. I opened it, and there was my gorgeous ring! I said yes and can't wait to get married!!!

Flowerfield is a BEAUTIFUL place...went to a wedding there last year...great choice!!

At the redskins opening day game in Washington DC. He tried to do it the whole weekend, walking around with this ring box in his pocket and I had NO idea. He said I was bumping into it and everything. I guess I really didn't expect it. He wound up doing it on Sunday at the game because on Saturday night when he wanted to do it, I was mad that he made me walk around the city again after doing it for 6 hours during the day! I felt so bad but was happy that it happened!
