We both attended Manhattan College and actually met at Freshman Orientation and were friends throughout school but didn't start dating until a year and half after graduation. I was out in the city and met up with one of my friends (who was actually FH's roomate) and FH was there as well. We started talking, he walked me to my car at the end of the night and said how we should get together and do something. He called me the next day, we made plans for our first date and the rest is history :)

During Fleet week in NYC. We met on the street and me thinking he was a stereotypical sailor really didn't want anything to do with him even though I felt a strong connection.
So, we walked away only to meet up ten minutes later by accident. :)
Basically, we hit it off and it was definitely love at first sight. Now i'm just waiting for him to get back from Afghanistan :(

I used to work with FH's mom. She would tell me all the time 'you would be perfect for my son, you are his type' so I told her to hook me up. Unfortuanely he kept telling his mom she's not hooking him up with someone at work & that he doesnt need his mom's help getting any girls.
So after like a month of her bothering him he finally yelled at her & said JUST GIVE HER MY # THEN I DONT CARE ANYMORE. I text him, he texted me back, he called me & we talked for hours!!! Finally after about a week of talking on the phone we met up. And here we are today

How long is your FH deployed for?
He's a navy corpsman assigned to a marines unit. He's deployed until july-ish. then his contracts up and he's moving in with my in NY since i teach on LI. :) His base was in NC so we were long distance for a while, and he's originally from Idaho so LI will be very different for him :)

A year after a ridiculously rough breakup, a friend said I should join Plenty of Fish. I insisted I would never meet someone off a dating site, it wouldn't work, I couldn't be bothered and on and on. Finally after weeks of more friends joining in the harrassing, I said fine, I will join and prove you all wrong. They told I only had to give it 2 weeks and I would see that I would have dates. My third day on the site, FH emailed me and the rest is history! LOL

I met my FH through work. We were friends for a few years...My Mom got me Mets tickets (Im a Yankee Fan) so I gave him the tickets at work and he asked me to go with him to the game...the rest is written!

thanks....and I totally remember that SATC episode...I never ever thought something significant would come out of fleet week lol but you're right, you just never know....:)
