Re: How did you ask
We had a tough time choosing Sean's Godparents , but, we asked them each individually after he was born. We said that Sean had a question for them...

Re: How did you ask
My husband asked the godfather without my knowing. We had agreed on who the godfather would be, but had just not asked him. When my Dh told him that we were expecting, he asked if he would be the godfather. DH did not tell me he asked, cause we were not supposed to be telling anyone yet. Apparently Dh could not contain his excitement.
The godmother came to visit me with my mom a few days after mother's day. I gave my mom her mother's day gift, And then I handed our friend a gift. She was like?? What I'm not mom?? And when she opened it she found a charm that said #1 godmother. She was suprised and cried her eyes out!! It was so sweet!!
And that's how it happened.

Re: How did you ask
I sent the Godfather (my brother) a father's day card in the mail, shortly after the baby was born. In it, I wrote a note (from the baby) about why Mommy & Daddy chose him to be the godfather.
For the Godmother (my cousin), I ordered the favors for Paul's christening - with the names of the godparents personalized on them - and showed her the receipt confirming the order. She was so suprisded and excited when she saw her name, it was so sweet!

Re: How did you ask
I gave the godmother (my best friend) a Mother's Day card asking her to be the baby's Godmother and telling her how important she is in my life.
Scott asked his brother to be the baby's Godfather while we had the video camera on. It was very nice.

Re: How did you ask
I said to the potential godmother 'Mia's party is all planned and ready to go, the only thing she is missing is a godmother'
she knew right away.

Re: How did you ask
We called my brother & his sister.
My younger brother was the only one who was THRILLED when I got pregnant. (John & I weren't married & we had a bit if a bumpy relationship in the beginning) Plus when my sister had her last child 5 years ago he complained that he would never be a Godfather & I promised him he'd be my first childs.
Johns sister that we picked (and have regretted) told me the day she met me that she was promised to be Godmother. (we weren't even pregnant!) So me & my stupid memory remembered that & we chose her.
