How did you ask your bridal party?

How did you ask your bridal party?

FI and I would like a creative way to ask the girls and guys to be in our bridal party.

I thought about inviting them all to dinner and announcing it there.

As far as a little gift, I've been trying to find a nice poem for the girls to go along with something special. Do people normally give gifts to the BP when they ask?

Any suggestions?

I guess I'm a bad bride to be, I just kind of pointed and grunted :You be bridesmaid, and it was taken care of

FH just asked his guys, I sent all the girls handmade cards and wrote them all personal letters explaining why I was asking them to be my bridesmaid.

I was in one wedding where a friend did that and another where the friend gave me a beautiful card and asked me in the card.

It was so nice to have that card and I will keep it forever so I thought it might be nice to do something different.
