Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
were just starting to look into it....and the main factor besides price and quality of food, is that it needs to be close to the church...
we dont want to have our guests have to drive all over to the church then to the restaurant...nor do i the night before the wedding!!!

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
our church is close to the house, so it is nearby, either way i would have held it close to the church so people didn't have to drive too much. we wanted to do something fun and casual, so we decided on mexician. we figured with all the holiday eating this would be different.

FH said he has a few places in mind... were keeping it local to the church and our neighborhood... but it has to fit at least 60 people... FH is a Knight, so maybe the Knight of Columbus or something.. we'll see!!

Our main consideration is that it has to be close to the church!

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
Ours is near our RH & hotel..but we won't actually be rehearsing so that doesn't really matter.
But if I were decided b/t church & home, I'd go with near to church

We're having ours at FIL's house which is about 10 minutes from the church.

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
ours was decided by price, unfortunately. Its not very close at all to the hotel or hall, but its a straight shot down the 135 then Merrick Road from it.
We looked at places close by, but we couldnt afford $30-$40 per person

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
I am not so sure we're really going to be able to choose so much.... it's up to FMIL ultimately. But it has to be close to the church or i'm putting my foot ... up someone's arse.

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
We first started looking at restuarant owned by our RH because we thought it would be nice. The prices were ok but their private room were all upstairs without elevators which wouldn't work out for our older guest. Then we just happened to stop by a resturant we love halfway between our apartment and church.

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
We tried to do close to the church but the restaurant we picked didn't have a room large enough for us. So we wound up picking their sister restaurant (owned by brothers) which is about 15 minutes from the church but on the way back to the highway towards the hotel.

Re: how did you choose where to have your RH dinner
Actually, ours will be close to the hotel, since all of FH's family and groomsment are out of towners, and aren't familiar with LI, and want to enjoy the open bar. I think we're going to utilize the hotel's shuttle for this.
For my family, it will be a little bit of a drive, but I'm not planning on drinking too much anyway so I don't have a puffy face for my wedding!
