Just wondering how everyone chose their RH. Had you been to a wedding there before? Was it the food? The location? The price? Or was it that when you walked in you just felt 'it'?

We'd actually never even heard of it before. Saw it on this website under Lessings locations and figured it was worth a look since it was in the area of where we wanted to look (Patchogue/Oakdale). From the moment we walked into the bar and saw the outside deck where we'd be married, we just knew. FH's face said it all. And when we got the price, it was a no brainer. Like I said before, I was concerned about the size of the restaurant, but figured it FH was happy, I could get over the size because of the view. When we went back to leave the deposit I did a double take. Think I was a little crazy the day we went. Place was a lot bigger than I remembered.

Re: How did you do it?
I saw a very detailed wedding review on here by a bride who got married there and I kept thinking that this place must be out of my league. We visited 8 or 9 halls and this was the last, although the price they had given us was higher than the others, their service, quality and reputation soared higher than the others. We went back for dinner on FH's birthday and signed that day. They brought out cake and sang happy birthday to him and they even gave us gifts!
The place is just absolutely beautiful but what sealed the deal for us was definitely the food but the ceremony location, it's gorgeous. That day they played music for me at the ceremony spot and I was about to tear up, I cannot wait to be married.

WOW! That place sounds great. Where are you getting married if you don't mind me asking?

Re: How did you do it?
FH and I did a whirlwind tour of 6 reception halls in about a weeks time. For the other 5, either we didn't feel 'it' or there were issues with accommodating our small wedding guest list (100) on the days we wanted...
We walked into the Winter Garden Pavillion at Fox Hollow and fell in LOVE with the room... we didn't want to make any rash decisions so we 'slept on it' for a few days and went back to make a deposit.
It easily gave us the 'WOW' every one talks about, and every time we go back we like it more and more.

It definitely feels nice when something feels right. I was put off by the first 2 we saw and was thinking 'Oh my god! Is this what it's really like?' Then we went to Riverview and got the wow. I do have to say we went to West Lake Inn after Riverview and I was highly impressed with what you got.....they just didn't have that outside ceremony location, and they weren't on the water which after seeing Riverview became a requirement.

It's BEAUTIFUL! I fell in love with the dome room- I love that it had round tables and the marble dance floor was gorgeous (esp with the dome!!). I actually tried the food AFTER we booked but it was amazing. The biggest factor was the price. We're getting a great price for a beautiful place.

we're hoping to go to my RHs brunch next Sunday. I know it's not the actual wedding food, but it should give me an idea of what to expect. we also plan on going out to dinner there for something special. Can't wait!

Re: How did you do it?
All of the above as well
I had been to 2 weddings at Fox Hollow for Friends, FH once, and there was so much food. Then we went to another wedding at a different hall, and the difference was so unbelievable, the other hall had so much less food and atmosphere.
When I started to look into halls, Fox was one of the first ones I went to, and there was no real beating the price for what you get. There were others that were comparable or a little less per person, but you would have to get cocktail hour flowers, or it didnt feel right to us, or it was an odd location that people would have trouble getting to
