If you bought it in the city but don't live in the city?
I live on LI but purchased my dress at Kleinfeld...last night my mom told me I should drive in to pick it up. However, I do not drive into the city (I just won't do it lol), and if I went with FH he would see my dress. My plan was to take it on the train, which will be a hassle, but I don't see any other way.
What did you girls do??

Re: How did you get your dress home?
I would definitely drive to go pick it up, maybe find a friend who will take the ride...I'm not a train person so I'd feel uncomfortable lugging it around and worrying about it snagging on something or somehow getting dirty.

This...
My dress is in Great Neck, I don't have a car. I need to ask them if they can store until the weekend before but not sure.
Btw, won't it be in the dress bag so he won't see it?

Re: How did you get your dress home?
i def would not recommend taking your dress on the train.
i'll prob drive into the city.
if your FH drives you, he won't see it. every time i've gone to kleinfeld and i see them taking dresses outside, they're always in white garment bags.

Re: How did you get your dress home?
I'm having FH drive me into the city and just wait outside. The dresses dont come in a see-thru garment bag, they are white , and not sheer or anything so he wont really be able to see it, unless he wants to inspect but i know he wont.

Re: How did you get your dress home?
do not take the train with it!!!! they are SO heavy and big...you will have trouble on the train.
i took my SUV and had to fold down the back seat so that it laid flat. they stuff the dress to give it shape so its HUGE

Re: How did you get your dress home?
My dress is also in the city. I am having either my father or brother drive to pick up the dress with me. Hopefully you can find someone to come with you to pick it up.

Awww, that's SO nice of you to offer! Unfortunately, my dress needs a lot of alterations, so I'll actually be picking it up only a few days before my wedding. But THANK YOU anyway! My second fitting is actually the day after your wedding!

Thank you so much ladies! This is why I love you all--without you, I probably would have been dealing with a nightmare on the train. And now that I know the garment bags aren't clear, FH can take me!

Re: How did you get your dress home?
My FH and I just discussed this. I got my dress at Kleinfeld and I don't drive. So we came to the conclusion that he would just drive me to pick it up. I was under the impression that it would be in a bag anyway so he couldn't see the dress.

Re: How did you get your dress home?
maybe have fh take you... your dress should be in a dress bag which is not clear. so he really wont see anything.
ETA: my wedding dress bag is white. maybe you can call them & ask them if they have one of those...
