How did you know?

Hey ladies - I am not TTC right now...but the hubbie and I talk a lot about when we would want to and how we feel about it..so I am wondering...for you personally, how did you know when you were ready to get pregnant and be a mom??

ummm...it's a personal thing. For me it was being around kids and wanting our own. We want our family, we want to settle down and live in our own little 'bubble'. I've wanted to be a mom for so long...before I met my husband. But seeing how he is with his nephews makes me want it more

Good question. I am wondering the same thing. Sometimes I think about babies a lot. I love being around them, and it makes me want them. DH and I want children for sure, but have no clue when we will be ready. I am hoping I wake up one day and really want to start trying. LOL

I think I have always known...I was that kid and then teenager that always wanted to be around kids and babies...and was drawn to other peoples babies...I could sit and try to make a baby laugh for hours...some people dont feel that way, or when a baby crys they get more annoyed then knowing that the baby needs something...I think their is nothing wrong with not knowing, or even not wanting kids, but I think you know when your ready...if you can imagine a child taking over your life and not have time to sleep or buy clothes or spend time alone, then you know you can do it...

Totally agree! I have always felt ready to be a mom-we both love kids but it is definately a big change now that i've been a mom for 11 days! You are like 'okay-this baby is dependent on me for at least 18 years'-it's scary at first but when I look into her eyes I fall more in love each day.
