How did you know it was time?

How did you know it was time?

Did you feel 100% sure about your decision to TTC?

I'm just curious about what was going through everyone's mind. Part of me feels like I'm ready and part of me feels like I'm not. Sometimes I feel like a kid myself and can't imagine being responsible for another life. I am never around children or babies so it's hard for me to imagine what it will be like.

Go to Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday afternoon! I was there this weekend at the b-day party for my MOH daughter and DH and I left and both looked at each other and were like, 'that is the best birth control out there!.' We love kids and someday hope to have three, but realized now is not the time yet...

My DH and I just decided that we wanted to TTC, because there would never be the 'perfect' time. There will always be things that we want to or see, and there will never be enough money in the bank. We just know that we are ready to open our lives up to a child. We have both had time to establish our careers and enjoy the 'non-attached' life.We also based on our decision on my age- I am 32. I didn't want to wait for too long before we TTC.

I feel the same as you and it's truly a personal decision, however, we are waiting, because we want some time to really be together before having a little one. Plus, I want to finish grad school and establish myself further in my career. I think age also has a lot to do with the decision. I'm 27 and am fine with waiting another year or two. Although, when I see some pics and am around a little one, I just want to dive right in, but then reality sets in, and I'm okay with waiting. We'll see!

You just know A sense of comfort comes over you, which I have found recently, I do not know if and when the actual time comes to start trying if I will feel different. Hubby always wanted more children, he has one son and he was just waiting on me to say I am ready. He loves children.

I think its pretty easy to get wrapped up in the baby fever on here. When I hear all the great stories and see all the adorable pictures, I think 'I want one'!

But when I take a step back and really ask myself if I'm ready, the answer is no. We're enjoying ourselves too much right now being young (well, 28 and 30) and carefree The time may never be perfect but it could be a lot better than this. I wouldn't even consider a baby until we move back east (sometime this year), and hopefully are in a house. But that's the same criteria we have to get a puppy and the puppy's coming first! So we're at least a year away, probably more like 2.

Re: How did you know it was time?

That's a difficult one to answer--before we got married we always said at least 4-5 years because I will become a SAHM and am doing really well career wise--well last fall I really got bitten with the bug really badly so we decided that 2004 would be our year---We are around kids ALL the time ( 8 nieces and 1 nephew that we babysit all the time) and I have ALWAYS known that motherhood was my END goal!!!!
Now that the time is coming close I think we are both ready---but with that being said-- we have also gone on tons of great vacations, tons of weekends away at a moments notice, done most everything we want for the house, etc-- so after only 2 short years(monday will be our anniv) we start TTC--
My family will be shocked when we tell them-- they know how much we want kids but we have also really pushed the notion that I am not ready career wise to give it up--but boy am I ready

I'm still not sure about our decision.

Thanks for sharing! It's just so confusing and I guess I'm waiting for this huge realization to hit me that I'm completely ready.
