how did you know you were ready to ttc?

how did you decide you were redy to ttc.My dh and i had a very long talk on saturday night about it and his concern is $$.Whch i understand however I feel you are never financially ready and to a degree everyone struggles a little when you have kids. My argument is that you are never ever financially ready and that yes we will struggle but not as much as some people we already know who have kids. He sees his brother with a new baby, baby #2 and his wife doesn’t work and his bro makes what my dh makes and they struggle but I know that I will be going back to work so I tell him we will have another salary even if half my salary goes to daycare we still have that extra money.
So I guess my question is how you decided you were financially ready to ttc.

Let me add that after a long discussion on Saturday he told me Sunday morning that he wants to ttc after our Vegas trip! He shocked me b/c as of Saturday night he wanted to wait but he said he thought about it and he can see my point so in May we are officially starting!!! YAY!!!

We didnt think too hard about it. We know we may not be finacially ready, but we have a lot of friends and family who have more then one child on similiar salaries and make it work.
We are very simple people..I like to shop, but I can live without the frills and such.
We decided we wanted kids right away, and were afraid if we waited till we were 'more finacially ready' , it would never happen, because there will always be an excuse for not being finacially ready.

So, we know we may struggle from time to tim,e but nothing too major hopefully...We were raised that way, and I didnt miss out on a thing. We think we are better off the many who have kids.
