We met in hs, my best friend actually liked him in our soph and junior yr, than senior year we all started hanging out more and we would flirt all the time but I didnt think he liked me, I just thought he was very friendly LMAO. Than I asked him about whether he wanted to be with my friend or not and he started talking about this girl he really liked and blah blah blah(he was talking about me!) to fast forward a bit my best friend and I were in the car and she pulled over and said, if you want to miss out on the best thing in your life you aren't going to date him because of me, I am over that and you two are meant to be. Well seven years later we are getting married and she still is my best friend and she is marrying an amazing guy too

FH (John) and I met back in 2007 when we both worked at SPLISH SPLASH WATERPARK; I was a lifeguard and he was my supervisor who trained me. We were both in relationships at the time, but we became good friends. The following summer, when we returned to work (both single!), we spent more and more time together... when I started to realize that I was falling for him.

(We had our first kiss in Mammouth River Slide! )

We started dating, but even then, I told him that our relationship would not last more than 2 weeks. 2 weeks turned into 3 and a half years and an engagement!

Years later, he told me it was love at first sight for him and he remembered every single detail down to my clothing and hair of the first day I met him.

My fiance and I both do theatre & we had met an audition 4 years ago. Fast forward to the next Summer-he was in between jobs and was serving at a restaurant & he happened to be my waiter! I recognized him from the audition and we chatted for a bit & he told me to look for him on Facebook (as we had a million mutual friends!).... we re-re-met about a year and a half later at another audition and we decided to meet up for coffee and that's how it all began! ;)
Come to think of it, tomorrow is the 2 year anniversary of our first date (the night after Thanksgiving!)

We met at WORK.

I have been at my job for 13 years now-- he has been here for about 4 years

we started out at first just talking--
we would stay up all night on the phone
then on memorial day he was going to Minesottas in Long Beach- so i grabbed my friends and my cousins and we went-- So officially starting dating then.

We snuck around the office noone knew for about 3 months and then i left work early and he walked me to the bus stop and we got caught.
We have been together ever since Dec 28 will be 3 1/2 years.


-- yes I know-- We work together Live together!!!!

I met my FH on a plane back from Cancun.

We were both in Cancun with friends but never saw each other. When we were lined up to board the plane on the way back, I saw him checking me out. When I boarded the plane I notice he sat directly across from me. I didn't think much about it. The flight attendant came around asking if you wanted juice, soda, water and chips. So I got juice (I think ) and I asked her for chips and FH had bought the last one. So the flight attendant said she will be back. Everytime she came back she would forget the chips. So he overheard and offered his. I was like oh no that's ok. He was like no please I don't mind. So I took his chips and we talked the whole ride home. 5 years later we are getting married!

LOL funny story. I originally was interested in his cousin. We all met at my friend's house, and my FH was this guy's ride to LI because they were from Queens. I sat down next to his cousin and it was super awkward. Not a lot of conversation going on. Well, I got up to go to the bathroom because I couldn't stand it anymore, and I came back to find my friend in my seat because she liked him the whole time! So, I figured I would still have fun and sat next to FH. We were flirting back and forth for a while and I sent him a really corny text message that I thought he was really cute (I WAS 16 LOL). Two days later, he asked me out. My friend made him get down on one knee LOL, which is really funny because he didn't have the opportunity to when he proposed because the waiter was standing in the way haha. At least I got to see it at some point .

There are a lot of high school and online dating meetings...it's great to see so many 'meant-to-be' matches on here!

FH and I met at the Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays. He is a bouncer there and I was enjoying a booze-filled Sunday Funday with some girlfriends. I noticed his tattoos (he has a sleeve) and initiated conversation. I guess I left a lasting impression because he texted me that night and we went on our first date about a month later :)

Fh and I met on plenty of Fish.com...never would have thought I would meet my husband online!!
Its such a small world cause his best friend dated my 3rd cousin!! lol

Internet date! He was the last guy to respond to my posting. I had all but given up on internet dating. We met at a bar near my house. What is amazing is that he actually is friends with a friend of mine AND he overheard me telling her about our coming up date on the phone while they were having lunch the day before! This is really amazing when you consider that there are 5 million people in the city. What are the chances of that!?
They realized what was going on and he got her to promise not to say anything because he was worried it would freak me out. In the middle of our first date, it was going really well, so he decided he better tell me. I was floored! It was the best and most interesting first date I ever had to say the least!

met FH thru a mutual friend, he was just ending a serious relationship and the ex was a psycho like completely bananas but we made it thru that and a whole lot more...10 years later finally getting married!!

i met my FH on okcupid in feb of 2010... after a string of losers, my friend talked me into trying out the site. i signed up and thought why not?
FH was the first guy who messaged me on there- we had our first date soon after. so glad i listened to my friend! he jokes all the time that if it wasn't for him, we would never have met

I worked in Family Court 3 years ago with kids in foster care, I had just started and noticed this cute court officer that worked at the front door. A mutual friend of ours actually found out I worked there and said oh my buddy works as a court officer, turned out to be the cute one, so he introduced us. I totally believe in fate :) now 3 years later we are getting married woohoo..

I love the looks on peoples faces when I start by saying ' yeah we met in family court' lol...

A girl I worked with wanted was sent an amazing bouquet on valentines day, so jokingly i asked if he had any brothers for me. Sooo she tried to set me up with her bf's brother (Matt!!!). He told her he wasn't really interested and she kept trying to push it (found out later that he can't stand her and figured he'd hate her friends too)
10 days later I meet this boy at mulcahys, and after talking for a bit, told him where I worked, blah blahblah, and realized that this is the guy she was tryin to set me up with!
On our first date he ran the spiel ' I'm not looking for anything serious, I don't plan to ever get married, I never want kids...' as I'm like, 'whatever, guy...you must not know 'bout me! I'll be over you in a week.'
Even still, the night was just different with him. After giving my mom the briefing of the date, she smiled and said 'I think you're going to marry him'
Despite his macho talk, he started something serious, put a ring on it and even has mentions of the offspring!

Technically, we met on Facebook. The only reason we found each other though is because I went to elementary school with his brother from K-6th grade. FH is 2 years younger so I didn't really know him back then. I saw his picture while looking to see if his brother had any other mutual friends and I was like 'omg, he's so cute. I'll send him a request' LOL. It took me a month to request him and when I did he messaged me right away. We have some interests in common so the ice breaker was talk about cameras and photography. Then we finally decided to meet and been together ever since!

ETA: We met a little over 3 years ago. May 8th will be 4 years.
