How did you to decide what to register for?

I was wondering how you decided what to register forand how many things to put on youur registry?

I know the items I need and double checked the lists they give you. I'm just concerned that some items may be too expensive (ie. $400 pot set, $500 knife block, $300 duvet...) A lot of people said to put it on the registry because people do buy them but they seem so extravagant to me. I already have fine china on there so I guess I just assumed that would be my expensive item.

Am I nuts? What do you guys or did your guests seem to spend on you for your showers? Did anyone have way to long a list?

TIA!

Definitely put what you want on your registry - regardless of price.

Some people will surprise you...some will go in on a group gift - people will spend what they are comfortable with.

For any items not purchased, you will be given the opportunity to buy them at 10% off (at least that was the case with Fortunoff's and C&B).

Have fun!!

Re: How did you to decide what to register for?

we used a list of what we needed bounced against the lists the stores give you for areas to register for and suggested items. and then made a nice mix of pricey items (china, luggage) and less expensive (everyday plates, cooks tools). and we ignored stuff like bedding and towels just because we rather have kitchen and dining stuff. having the FH there in the store also added a good balance to our list just because he thinks so differently about what we need and don't need.

Re: How did you to decide what to register for?

I was very upset when I first registerd cause I never realized how expensive everyday things were...but everyone told me to just put down what I liked and whoever buys it buys it..if they dont then I buy it myself or but a different cheaper one. You'd be surprise what people will buy!!
