well... he came over my house ( we were on our way to a WAKE!!!) and he just grabbed my arma dn said we had to talk..and i just knew!! and when he got down i jsut smile d and said yes yes yes as he talked...i dont evenr remember what he was saying and we downstairs and told my mom first!

Okay, well mine is a little long...Our Anniversary is March 17. We were in the process of moving into and painting our new apartment. My Fi had back surgery Jan 2003, but still had lots of problems and had surgery again March 17 2003. So we found out that Fri, March 14, 03 that he had to ahve surgery on March 17. We went to our new apt b/c our new mattress had been delivered that day and he wanted to see it. We were just hanging out and he says that he had lunch with my dad..and I say Why?!?!?!?! and you know how it goes from there, we both started crying, I said yes before I realized there was even a ring!
It was really nice..he had planned on doing it on our anniv and taking me to the River Cafe in Brooklyn, that I had been dying to go to.
He took me this year on our Ann instead
ETA: He wanted to do it in our apt b/c it was where we would be starting our life together!

well it was my birthday wknd, he kicked me out of the house, while he was at home preparing a romatic dinner, and I kinda had a feeling...so after dinner, when he suggested dessert, I was too full, and waisted another hour...(I know I'm horrible- but I really was full) and then after an hour he said ok enuff, and sat me down, brought me my birthday cake, and then finally let me read my card, and in the card he wrote how much he loves me and how he hopes he can show me tonite, and just as i finished reading it,....i turned around and he was on his knee...and proposedd...
no tears...more like stunned....I knew that he was going to ask that nite...just had a feeling... and it took me 2 minutes to answer...yes I made him nervous...
and we called my mom first...who lives in anohter country with a 6 hr. time difference...so it was 3am for her....

FH proposed while we were camping last Labor Day weekend. We had been together for 8 years, so I pretty much had a feeling he was going to do it then. He waited until it was late and proposed by the campfire. I was crying the whole time and we alled me parents first. They knew he was going to do it, so they were waiting up for my call. He had gone to them during the week to ask their permission, he even showed my sister the ring first! He was nervous!

My FI had a realllllly romantic plan but my cat screwed it all up He bought tickets for a ski trip in Switzerland, and planned the whole thing down to every detail.. was going to just drive us to the airport out of the blue, and ask me at the airport (he says that if I said no, he didn't want me to get a free trip!)... but I suspected he was planning something, so I kinda dropped hints that he couldn't just suprise me because I had to arrange for someone to take care of my cat... SO, two days before, he made me dinner, and then brought me over to the fireplace... and told me that he had something to tell me... downed 2 glasses of wine (and he's NOT a big drinker)... and asked, and then showed me the tickets and everything... I didn't cry... I think because I was in such shock... I still am! The weirdest is he didn't ask my family's permission... he didn't tell anyone, in fact... but I called my family first, and they were all like, 'yeah, we figured that's why you were calling'...

My parents were going to Florida for a couple of months so we went to visit them. (about a 3 hour drive) On saturday he and my mom 'had to go to the computer store to get a part' They invited me knowing I would say no thanks. I was SO sick that weekend, I had the worst cold! So I was in my room, laying down, feeling and looking awful when I heard them come home. I got up to say hi and he got down on one knee. Im not sure what he said to me, because I kept saying NO NO NO. He looked at me and I said, well I want to marry you but I wanted to lok pretty when you asked. I know it was a rediculous thing to say but it was a BEAUTIFUL ring and I wanted to look beautiful wearing it, He laughed at me, and I ran downstairs to tell my mom and dad. Little did I know, that they alreeady knew and my mom took him to pick it up.
