We were on vacation in Cali, and we went to a Padres game, fh is a baseball nut, and there it was, top of the fourth inning, 'Jenn, Will you Marry me? -Rob' And then there we were on the big screen in front of everyone in the stadium and he got down on one knee right there on the dirty stadium floor, and pulled out the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen, and asked me again. I cried hysterically, his family was with us, and everyone was in on it, so we have it on dvd and TONS of pics. Everyone was screaming and clapping.. it was definately something I will never forget.

Fh and I had a long standing joke that I wanted to be proposed to in front of the castle at Disney. So we went to Disney in August 2004 and the trip came and went...no proposal. And then September 12, 2004 FH surprised me and took me to the Sands Point Preserve. They were having a festival there with lots of food and drinks so he thought it would be a nice thing to do on a day when we had nothing planned. Well, we ended up walking on the beach and I made a stupid comment (typical) about a building that was facing the sound. FH said to me 'geez, you say some dumb things. You cant do anything right' (teasing me) and I said (teasing him)' Well I did one thing right. I met you!!'...we laughed and he said 'So what do you want to marry me or something??' And I replied 'there is no pressure. Of course I want to marry you but you ask me when you are ready'...and then FH got this goofy look on his face and he reached in his pocket and pulled out the box!! I, of course, freaked out and started crying and running in circles on the beach. And then he POPPED THE QUESTION!!! We sat on the beach for about an hour and he told me about how he asked my parents and how he was going to ask me in Disney, but it was too obvious. He went on to explain that he chose the Sands Point Preserve because there are 2 huge castles there and he wanted to keep his promise and propose in front of a castle. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

When I came home from work FH picked me up, blindfolded me and covered my ears with big headphones (that played Chicago love songs the whole time).
He drove to Jones Beach (where he asked me to be his GF 7 years before). He walked me down the boardwalk, through the sand and down to the shore (still wearing a blindfold and headphones).
When he took the headphones and blindfold off I was standing in front of a huge heart-shaped hole filled with purple candles that spelled out, MARRY ME! Behind the heart in the sand was a stuffed build-a-bear in a tux holding a stuffing-filled heart while sitting on a red cushion. He told me to pick up the bear. The bear had a little tag on him that read: 'There's something special in my heart for you! Once you find it, press my left arm for a special message.'
Inside the heart, the bear was holding was the ring. I pushed the bear's arm to hear FH's voice (recorded) saying:
'Hey Baby, it's me. I have a very important question to ask you. Babe, will you marry me?'
At the same time, he was on his knees in front of me saying the 'Babe, will you marry me?' part along with the bear.
After all this, we went back to the car to go out to dinner. I was going to call my parents, but he suggested I wait until after dinner. We pulled up to our favorite restaurant and he said, 'oh, look who's here!' It was both of our parents.
At dinner I learned why I had worn headphones! He was communicating with his parents via walkie-talkies. They helped to set up the heart in the sand, along with some help from strangers on the beach who thought it was romantic! His father video-taped the whole proposal from a distance!! I always told him that I would love to have the proposal video taped so I could look back and see it again.

We went on a cruise in April on the western caribbean. We had been to Cozumel before twice...it is one of our favorite places in the world. We were snorkeling underwater when he pointed to a artificial reef of a mayan ruin. On it was a card that said 'Laura will you marry me?' attached to a ring. (Which I later found out was fake. The real one was in the safe on the ship.) He held me up on the reef in the ocean in the middle of nowhere (as I was choking from inhaling the water) and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. It was AMAZING!!! We talked in the water balancing on that reef for about 2 hours discussing all the actions of the previous two weeks. Cozumel still remains one of my all time favorite places in the world.

He proposed in our home. I knew it would be coming soon, so any 'dinners out' or special trips would be highly suspect. He woke me up at 7:00 am on a Sunday by yelling into the bedroom to come out for something. When I stepped out into the hall, our whole place was decorated with candles and flowers and momentoes of places we have been together. I was so completely surprised!

our first year dating FH took me to NYC to see the tree- went to dinner- to see a play...we took tons of pictures...then the following valentines day he made me something special using the pictures from that day...each year we go to the city to see the tree- take more pics- go to dinner- and sometimes see a play
well dec 23rd, 2004 we went to the city, didnt think it was unusual, since we did it every year...and we were walking around doing what we normally do except this year we had our brand new video camera- to make a long story short we went to right in front of the tree- where the angels are and we took the professional pics- he got down on one knee- in the drizzly rain and asked me to marry him- at the place he realized he loved me... it was super sweet and romantic, people were clapping and watching and the best part is that it is all on video and we have watched it several times and each and every time i cry

well when i was sleeping he tied the ring on a string above myhead. When I woke up the next am I saw it and he was already awake waiting for me to get up. lol He then took the ring down and got on one knee. the rest is history

We went on dinner cruise on Le Bateaux - there was champagne and roses. He got down on one knee, I cried - very mushy and I loved every minute of it.
And, he spoke to my parents before proposing to get thier blessing - they loved that. I thought it was a very sweet and considerate touch.

so here's mine - I always joked w/ FH that he couldn't propose to me on a holiday and try to get away w/ not getting me a present by giving me an e-ring (I'm a brat, I know - but really I was joking). So anyway, we went to Mystic in CT for Valentines Day weekend. We stayed at an awesome bed and breakfast w/ a fireplace in our room and all that good stuff. We had a great day, hung out, relaxed at the room, went to dinner blah blah blah. And later at night we were hanging out in the room and at 12 midnight the alarm clock starting going off. So I was like 'what's going on?' and he said that since it wasn't Valentine's Day anymore there was something that he wanted to do - and he proposed! So cute! And when I tell people we got engaged on Feb. 15 they all ask why not the 14th?

It was 12/17/04...
At the EAB Christmas Tree. We were supposedly meeting his parents there to take pics with his mom for her b-day which was that day...somehow I believed this story (lucky for my FH) And it couldn't have been any colder! We walked around the tree for a little while and then we stood infront of it and he pulled away from me and got down on one knee and proposed! I was screaming crying etc!!!! I couldn't even see the ring through my tears! I didn't care what it looked like! I was so happy that I got engaged!! It was awesome!!!!!
Then we went out to dinner to the Millerage that night with our parents!!
It is so weird but I just had a feeling that it was going to happen that night.

October 8,2005 a rainy saturday. He bought me a wooden Kim Anderson Picture and had it cut into a puzzle. We are both really bad at puzzles so it took us like 2 hours to do it. We were almost done, and I realized there was a piece missing. I looked under the couch , under the table everywhere. I thought my cat took it because she steals things. He let me look for the missing piece for a few minutes, then he 'found' it and gave it to me. When I turned it over, It said my name, will you marry me? It took a good minute for it to register, I was hysterical crying and then he got down on one knee and proposed

We went down to Wildwood for a weekend get-a-way. The first night we were there, we decided that we would go on the Ferris Wheel at night so that we could see the whole boardwalk lit up. I don't really like Ferris Wheels so the whole time we were on there he kept telling me how much he loved me and rubing my hand so that I would stay calm. Well, our car stoped at the top and that's when he asked me to marry him. I said 'stop, don't joke' and he said 'I'm not & to look at my hand'. While he was rubbing my hand he put my ring on my finger. If that wasn't sweet enough, that night they had a firework show on the beach and he had bought choc covered strawberries and wine for us to have earlier. So we sat on our balcony, watched the fireworks had our dessert. The night before we left he even asked both my parents for their blessing.

Wow, these stories are awesome! It was a friday night and I had gotten home from work to find he had made a nice pasta dinner and wine, etc. I was totally exhausted and out of it and I turned my head for a second and when I looked back he was GONE. Ok, really he was down on one knee but it took me a moment to realize that. I asked him what he was doing .. I STILL didn't 'get' it. Then he asked me to marry him and I said 'OMG, are you kidding? are you kidding?' over and over lol. After a minute I snapped out of it and said yes!

I knew it was coming anytime. I always wanted to be asked at Shea Stadium. (We are both huge Mets fans) We went to a game, in the luxury diamond view suites. Mr Met came in.....nothing. (It was my decoy)
2 weeks later he was being very secretive when I got home from work and kept his bedroom door completely shut. I changed in my room, we went to dinner, I fell asleep on the way home. We came back and he ran in his room and shut the door. 5 minutes later he came back out and led me in his room. There were candles EVERYWHERE! He had our favorite liquor poured (Godiva liquor) and he took out a box of Godiva chocolates and the ring was inside! He got down on one knee and proposed.
Once our celebration had subsided, he handed me the phone and said my parents were waiting to hear from me. He had asked their permission the night before.

Feb 12, 2005, On the balcony of the Met Opera House overlooking the fountain. Just the two of us out there after a matinee performance of the Marriage of Figaro. Nobody knew, not even our parents. He was totally himself the entire day.
We always joke with eachother how Valentines day is just a silly hallmark holiday, so of course my engagement radar happen to be non-existent that day (even though it was two days before). I was so oblivious that even while he was proposing, I had no idea until he said 'will you marry me?' Even then I had to ask him to repeat it!
