How did your fi propose?

i brought FW to poconos @ Ceasers Palace on the night of our 5 yr anniversary...she thought it was all speical cause of the day but she was very surprised when i got down on 1 knee...

We were together for about 5 1/2 years. Usually after this long it isn't a suprise but he fooled me and I was sooo suprised! I was set to graduate in December of 2002 with a BS in Biochemistry. For a long time we talked about getting married. We went numerous times to look at rings. The plan was that we were going to get engaged after I graduated college in December.

One night in August, Ray and Keith (Ray's sister's husband) went into the city and picked up my ring! But I didn't know. We continued to look at rings and stuff and he had the ring in his room for over a month before he proposed! It was Friday September 27, 2002 and Ray and I were watching a movie at my house. The next day we planned on going out east to a winery for the day. Ray said to me 'Lets go look at rings again on Monday.' I was very exciting...little did I know that he already had the ring and was planning on proposing the next day at the winery!
So now it is Saturday September 28, 2004. We went to the winery and a harvest festival was going on that day. The weather was beautiful and we had the best time together. Towards the end of the day Ray said 'I have a suprise for you...a hotel on the beach.' At first I said I don't have clothes and I have to work tomorrow, but Ray told me that he worked everything out with my mom and that he had a bag of clothes and had called work for me. So we went down to the hotel. It was right on the water of the North Fork. Ray and I were outside on lounge chairs relaxing when he kept saying he wanted to go inside. I didn't want to go inside because it was so nice out, but he kept asking and asking. I though he just wanted to have sex. I was getting mad and I was like can't you just wait until tonight!!!!
So finally we went inside and Ray had to use the bathroom. He was really fixing the ring in the box and getting it ready! So when he came out, he started to say all these really nice things to me. Suddenly he was down on one knee asking me to marry him with the most beautiful ring I ever saw! I started crying because I was so happy. After this I was on the phone with all my friends and family for about 2 hours telling them all the news. The we went out for a nice dinner. It was the best day ever!

On the beach in Long Beach. We picked up some sushi, brought our chairs to the water to have dinner at sunset. After dinner he handed me a fortune cookie that said 'Allison.. will you marry me'

We kinda had two. We were rolling around in bed one day, mock wrestling or something, and I just looked at him and said - 'Let's get married.' And he went - 'Okay.' Now, wer had done this before, but this time we both meant we knew it. 'Really?' 'Yeah, really.' Big stupid smile. 'Okay.'

It was our ninth anniversary weekend. We were already unofficialy engaged, and I was pretty much certain it was going to happen this weekend. We went to Cafe Centro, a restaurant in New York, and I mentioned that I got him tickets to 'Les Miserables' for his anniversary present. 'Well, I also got you an anniversary present. Do you want to know what it is?' (Now, I knew that he was gonna propose at this dinner. And part of my brain was like, 'This is probably it.' The other part of my brain was like: 'Hey, maybe he's gotten me an anniversary present too! Oh wow!' So I wanted my anniversary present.) 'Yeah, okay.' 'You sure? You're certain you don't want it later?' 'Yes, yes, I'm sure!' And then he gave me the ring. 'Here it is.' And he asked and I said yes and they still haven't stopped smiling.

It was on Sweetest Day 10/18/03 (men's valentine's day in the midwest). FH and I went out that morning to run errands. I had a buy a gift for a bridal shower later that day. We go to breakfast and his BF ends up joining us. When his friend got to the table he hands FH his house keys. I didn't think anything of it bc they hung out the night before.

We get to our floor and I'm like what's all this sh*t on the floor (thinking my neighbors pushed trash in front of our door). As I get closer I realize they are rose petals. So I begin to question him, he's just like open the door. When I open the door, there's a path of rose petals down the hallway thru the living room and into the den. There were vases of roses all over. On the coffee table there are roses scattered around wedding planning/marriage books. At this point I am in shock. The first thing I said was who did you let come into my messy house (I planned to clean up before I went to the shower).

He tells me to sit and he says something - I honestly don't remember. He leans forward on bended knee and asks me to marry him. I was in shock, I didn't cry until he told me that he wrote my parent's a letter and spoke to them earlier that week.

He took leave for my cousin Dawns' wedding at the end of August and came in two days early. I kind of knew something was up cause he was very nervous and wouldn't tell me where we were going. We were supposed to go to the mall and I was getting upset with him for driving in circles no where even close to the mall. We went down to a Country Club in Lindenhurst, and I can never remember the name of it, and he asked me at the waters edge. I was so shocked. Until five minutes before he did it I really believed that on military pay he couldn't afford to do it yet. When he acted funny I kind of thought he may but wasn't sure till he was on his knee.

Scott and I got engaged on our ninth month anniversary. It was raining outside so his initial plans fell through.

I went to Scott's house around 1 o'clock, when I opened the door Scott was in a suit down on one knee. There was music playing in the background, lit candles and rose petals scattered throughout the apartment. He was so nervous he could hardly get the words out.
