How do I address?

My friend is getting married before me, but not before I send out my invites. Do I invite them as Mr. Soandso and Ms. Name and then write on the placecards Mr. Soandso and Mrs. Soandso?

I'm not really sure how to work this! Also, I don't want to screw up my guestlist because I have them down as different names for the invites and then the placecards...

If they're not going to be married when they receive your invite, I'd do:

Ms. Soandso & Mr. Soandso

I just received a wedding invite for FH and I today for my friend's wedding in July, and this is how it was addressed.


Then on the placecard, I'd do Mr. & Mrs. Soandso.....just make sure you keep track for yourself that they're the same people.

I just went through this for my e-party. It's a little bit of a different situation, but my friend is engaged right now, but will be married by the time I get married. The e-party invite went out as Miss Jane Smith* & Mr. Joe Schmo*, and I sent it to my friends address b/c she is my main friend, I only know him b/c of her. So now obviously the wedding invite will go to Mr. & Mrs. Joe Schmo*.

*Fake names (obvi lol)

So I don't see why you can't do the same thing in your situation. Address both names for the invites, and for the placecards do Mr & Mrs.

I agree with the above posts.

My friend is getting married in October, but received an invitation to a wedding as Mr & Mrs. blahblah. She was really upset and thought it was a jinx b/c they arent married yet.

i always do the soon to be mr & mrs....

thats what i have been using since i ot engaged becuase the two last names is way too confusing
