one of my friends told me a few weeks ago that he and his wife are separating this summer. I'll be sending out invitations at the beginning of June so they may still be living together ...
How do i address that envelope? Do i include the wife or not?
ps: i don't really know the wife very well so she wouldn't be invited on her own.
Also my friend told me he'd prob be coming alone

Hmm is it common knowledge that they are splitting? If not, I'd address it to both as if everything was just peachy.

I'd send it addressed to him and guest. whatever situation they are in by then, leave him an option to bring her if they get back together, not bring her if they dont, or bring someone else if he feels like it. yuck, hate sticky situations...

I feel like the sticky situation should be on his end. Who knows what can happen between now and June. If he decides to come by himself that is his choice.

I would address it to Mr. & Mrs. since they will still technically be married. They can discuss between them if they will both be going or not.

I wasn't saying it because I thought anyone else would see it. What I meant by the question was would it cause issues if the wife knew that he was venting their marital problems to the OP! Granted, there are obviously issues already but still, I doubt he'd want an extra headache.

i have the same situation...FH and I just decided to address it to both as if everything were fine and they can figure it out when RSVPing this way we don't get in the middle of it or offend anyone. HTH
