I see no problem with you calling and asking that. My hall doesn't do 2 at one time but they do a day event and an evening event and I asked them if there was a day event going on that day (which there is).
i hate to say it like this, but Its Russo's. i'm sure something is going on, on the same date and at the same time. There are smaller rooms upstairs that can be used to birthdays and christenings...and smaller parties...but it shouldn't be a big deal to call and find out. they tell you
my RH was so defensive when i asked this! no matter who i spoke to they said something along the lines 'ofcourse there will be dont you know who we are, we dont go a day with just one party' - but dude that doesnt answer my question thats just snarky boasting a real answer would be to say 'yes' or 'no' sorry to sound like im venting it just irked me that they answered with such attitude like its a ridiculous question for me to ask.
I just asked. It was no big deal. There is a sweet sixteen upstairs in the smaller room. I might get annoyed with the younger children but at least it doesn't interfere with my ceremony and cocktail hour.

No need to be sneaky. I asked my BM straightout, especially since I was taking a room that was being split (Tivoli). I originally had booked 1/3 (I had a small wedding) and constantly asked for updates on who was booking the other 2/3 (i mean CONSTANTLY). In the end, no one booked the 2/3 and Russo's gave me that room instead of the 1/3. But there were points that people had held the room for communions or what not and ended up not booking. All you have to do is ask. Russo's will do anything and everything to make you comfortable and happy. They wont tell you WHO booked but they will tell you what else is going on.
