How do I get in touch with a author of a book?

Do I contact the publisher?
I would like to have a literary night at my sons school and then we could kick off our bookfair. But to have a story maybe read by a childrens author would be so cool. If ANYBODY has published a childrens book or knows an author of one and would like to get their name out there this would be a good opportunity for both of us

Some authors list their email address in the back of the book or probably contact the publisher.

I would contact the publisher. On some publisher's websites, they have a 'contact our authors' section...

I would contact the publisher and/or the author's publicist/agent.
