Justine, try Craigslist or ebay-I bought indesign (a design program) off craiglist for nearly half the price from a graphic designer that decided he didn't need it for some reason. It was in perfect condition.

Re: How do I get photoshop?
PhotoShop has a 'stripped' down version of PhotoShop called PhotoShop Elements for home use....i think that sells for about $50-90?
I am not sure what it has in it since I've only ever used the full Photoshop (i'm a graphic artist). It's industry standard software for Graphic Artists, so that's why it's so expensive.
I've gotten it free (PhotoShop Elements) many times with things I bought like scanners and digital cameras...check to see if you already have it on your computer somewhere, or lying around on a CD!
Sometimes they will bundle it with other software. Good luck!
