How do I say this nicely??

How do I say this nicely??

FH has a very close friend who has two kids. The boy is also FH's godson. He is in the bridal party. The daugther asked me where is she in the wedding in an e-mail. I already have my girls picked out and do not want anyone else. If I had to pick one more girl there are other people I would pick before her. (long story ...but I have my reasons)

What should I say? FH said I have to respond.

Thank you for your suggestions of other things she can do...but I do not want to give her any responsiblities because she will probably leave us hanging that day!!

So...how do I break the news to her nicely???

If she's a little kid, you don't want her to feel left out. Maybe you could think of a 'special' job to give her. Something trivial, but make it sound important. Like, she can be 'guest book watcher' or something.

If she's older (11 or 12 or so), you can explain that you've already chosen your people for the bridal party, but that you can't wait to see her there and are excited to share your day with her.

She can pass out programs to guests as they arrive and/or read a poem. If you are having 'In memory of' candles maybe she could light them.

I don't even know how to say this nicely on this board....lol...I really don't like her!!! She is too wild...and I'm just afraid she is not going to show up that day. I DO NOT want her give her even the smallest role!! She told us she was coming to the e-party and the day of the e-party she didn't even show. She never even apologized to me.

WOW...yeah I think I would just tell her flat out that you've chosen your group and if she would like she can help you mkae programs, wrap favors, etc. but if she didn't even care enough to come to the eparty then there's your answer. That's balls honestly.

She's 21...she's old enough to know better...There's BRIDES on this board that are 21...

I would just tell her that you are flattered that she would want to take part in your wedding, but already have all your girls picked out.

I feel for you, I hope no one pressures you to put her in. That is wrong.

I agree with the last poster... she is 21, what balls on her to even ask.

that sounds a bit immature for a 21 year old...wouldnt she know better than to put you on the spot like that!? so sorry you have to deal with this....i would just explain to her that you were trying to keep the bridal party limited to to your close family/friends ect. and that you could only choose a few people. she should understand....

Maybe you should just bring up the e-party incident and explain that this is a really important day for you and FH and you don't want to make her take on more responsibility than she can handle. (i.e. any responsibility)

i agree and i would also add that the boy is in the brial party b/c he is your FHs godson. i would give her maybe like passing out the programs or something like that b/c if she doesnt show up you can leave the basket at the door and people will now to pick them up so it woudnt be total confusion if she doesnt show up. i hope this works out for you but i think she was way outta line for asking she should def. know better
