how do i throw a surprise baby shower?

I can use some ideas please!
My best friend is due in January, it's a
I want to have a baby shower for her in november or early december.
I was thinking going with her husband to register, and then talk to her mother in law to use her house, what else do I need to do?

is this her first baby? If he is, she will probably register anyway

2nd baby showers are great-- especially if baby#2 is a different sex!!!

Ask her MIl if you can have it there is a good Idea but she may then want to be in on it a little more than you want.. if you are fine with having her 110% help-- Then that is great!!

I personally would sit down, or call both mothers and see what their schedules look like, if there are any weddings, parties, or trips already planned, so you dont double book a date and the grandparents cant show to the shower..

Then after you figure out a date comes the fun part... Invitations, and a caterer, (unless you are going to cook), and favors... You can try looking up online cheap and fun favors as well as games and things to do at the shower... Just make sure you write on the invitation... Shhhhhhhh Its a surprise!! -- So no-one blabs about it!!!
