i sometimes wonder about this being that there r so many divorces and cheating..like would i just marry a man to b taken care of, and have sex and just have that freedom w/o the love...

personally it sounds interesting to b supported taken care of finanically but i think i need that love friendship and bond...to me thats what life is all about altho i m sure many pple marry for the above reasons i mentioned in todays world when things can b so hard

I would rather be poor and in love than rich and have no love. To me being with someone i love who loves me makes me happy and that is all i need.

i could never do it - I think there is alot of that in this country. (And if Bush wants to protect the 'sanctity' of marriage, why not change the constitution to Ban divorce?

I know people who have married just for the Greencard and have 'arrangements.' They seem happy now, but what about when they fall in love? They have no problem getting a divorce when that happens...but you have to wonder what the ramifications might be.

I can't judge others choices, but I do think 'arrangements' and marriages of convenience one one level, do really screw with the 'sanctity' of marriage.

i dont think its really a weird question to post on liweddings..like for any of the girls who watched that bridezilla show--the guy with the asian gf, they looked like they couldnt stand each other!! i saw mail order bride written all over that lol..and to b honest i have heard some pple make comments about there so's (not on the boards) but in general that make me wonder if they r in love o rjust together cause its convenient...and hey ya never know--every1 defines 'love' differently..sometimes they love a person cause they provide them with safety and finanicla security in life

It depends on your view of marraige. It was created as part of religion to be a sacrament and marrying 'for money' would be a sin, but to each their own...no -one should judge anyone for their reasons cause no-ones perfect.
