How do women define the following:

Pretty

Beautiful

Sexy

give your definitions of each of these three words. (there is an article about this in Allure Magazine too) I am curious to see what everyone says.

I'll try though I have to say I think that this is difficult and I'm going to use people to help me define each one.
I will say that each one to me is not confined to just looks - and that I think that pretty is the hardest to define.

Pretty - Sarah Jessica Parker. Pretty is in everyone. Pretty encompasses all flaws.

Beautiful - Grace Kelly. Beauty is timeless and it never fades. I associate flawlessness with beauty though when I say flawless, I don't mean 'perfect' (if that makes any sense).

Sexy - Marilyn Monroe. Sexy doesn't last but for its duration is potent stuff. Sexy is not just in the body and it's not always obvious. It's mysterious, maybe a little dangerous and a bit unconventional.

Pretty - I feel that this is more about the way someone looks on the outside. Attractive and pleasing to look at. Subtle, I associate this word with things that are fragile and slender in nature.

Beautiful - this is used to describe the entire person or thing. For something to be beautiful it has to be Attractive and pleasing to look at AND have a postive energy. Something that draws you to it. It's subtle, classic and elegant but it stands apart from the crowd.

Sexy - attractive, pleasing to look at and arousing, provocative. Raw and obvious yet appealing and alluring.

Re: How do women define the following:

Pretty = someone who's physical looks inspire me to admiration or envy.

Beautiful = awe-inspiring physical attractiveness together with an open, approachable, compassionate personality.

Sexy - a combination of physical attractivness and palpating sexual magnetism.

Gee, that was a mouthful.

I think you worded everything here perfectly. I completely agree!!!

Re: How do women define the following:

Pretty: the physical attributes someone possesses which may make me notice them. Could also be an accessory or outfit which has a pleasantly memorable look to it.

Beautiful: I don't necessarily define this by a persons looks but rather how big their heart is and what they give back to others. However, if we're talking about looks, I think beautiful is someone who has features which make you almost have to look at them.

Sexy: Like Mel said, it doesn't last too long but it is powerful. Anyone who can be lusted after is sexy (at least for a little while) but I don't think there is any one look in particular that defines it for me. Anyone can be sexy.

Re: How do women define the following:

Pretty: Above average looks. Pleasing to look at, but doesn't necessarily warrant a second look. More attractive than not.

Beautiful: Extremely good looking. The type of person who you will take a second look at and think wow because they are so attractive.

Sexy: Someone you might find sexually appealing, often not associated solely with looks. AN attitude and the way a women handles herself can add to her sexiness.
