How do you address...

Ugggh we have to invite the officiant too??? Every other minute I'm adding people to this darn list!

I think it depends on his or her title. Ours goes by Father David but his formal title is...The Very Reverend...

So I guess it would be:

The Very Reverend John L. David

You'd address it 'The Reverend John Doe'

I had this same problem because my uncle is a Pastor, AND has a doctorate.... So that ended up being : 'The Reverend Dr. and Mrs. John Doe'

So confusing!

We're getting married by my priest. I assumed I would address it to Father John Smith. Is that incorrect?

I believe 'Reverend' is the formal title when addressing any Christian officiant - Catholic or Protestant.

So the addressing of a priest it'd be 'The Reverend Father John Smith'......but if he's a friend of the family or something, you could make it more personal and just address is as Father John Smith.
