How do you convert a bitmap image into a jpeg or gif format??

How do you convert a bitmap image into a jpeg or gif format??

Does anyone know? I'm trying to save pictures on to my computer from online but the all save as bitmap images - so then i cant put them on Shutterfly....

Help!!??

Save as
pull down the 'save as type' menu and pick which one you want.

It worked! Well at least for a gif format - it didnt give me the jpeg option.

Ok - it didnt work - i guess it depends what site i want to save from?

I tried saving a ring from the tiffany website to put as my avatar and it saved it - but it was a blank image -

I'm going to try on different sites...


i suck - i'm computer illiterate!

it might be tiffany...I think I had an issue saving a picture from them...


most computers have MS Paint...and once you save the picture try opening it in Paint (or Photoshop or whatever program you have) and Save As...it should give you .gif and .jpg options

I usually change it over in the paint program.
