How do you decorate your bedroom and bathrooms?

My bedroom and bathroom is quite small...but I would like to add little touches to personalize them.

The only thing I have done to my bedroom is put up a photo collage, replace the closet doors with draperies/tiebacks and paint the whole thing a dark green. Any other ideas?

My bathroom is really bland. A pale green and beige. Nothing on the walls b/c Im not what I can put there that wont be disturbed by the moisture.

Photos would be great too!

we just redid our bathroom...we put a wall liner on, it's thicker than wallpaper and covers any damage that was there from peeling the old wallpaer off. then we painted it a sand color and put on a border (with shells) the same height as the shower. repainted the cabinets in fun colors to match the border. i am going to cut out some of the shells and paste them to the cabinet doors and the back of the door. i wanted to make it fun looking. it's the one project we did and i keep wanted to put some more little touches into it. i will post befores and afters tonight.

our bedroom is very small also and that will be redecorated after i finish the project in the basement. (long story)

We put glass shelves in our bathroom that have a metal slide bracket which we painted to match the wall. We only use it for candles and small things though.

We also found a picture at Michaels that was about $10.00 that had a blue frame that matched our towels. We figured for $10 we didnt care if it got ruined.

I'm huge on bathrooms...We lucked out with this apartment - the medicine cabinet is framed by what looks like, an ornate/gilded frame and it's flanked by 2 torchiere lamps - to which I added 3 chandelier crystals on each. The walls are a sage swirl treatment (my homage to Klimt, my FAVE artist) over ivory. I have 5 framed pictures/prints hanging and a wrought iron basket holding towels. I made the room appear 'taller' by hanging long sheers from the ceiling (almost)...I have little purse ornaments (due to my bag obsession) hanging on the shower curtain hooks and in the door knobs. A pedestal mirror on the counter...a framed poem on the spice rack I use as a perfume/cologne holder. Oh and I also stained the bottom of the vanity a cherry red.

The bedroom is painted a calm-blue with a darker blue trimming the windows and built-in book shelf. Black wrought iron rods hold ivory linen curtains...they were to the floor but FH washed them . The bed is angled at one corner and the opposite corner has a black, asian screen. the furniture is hand-me-down and I've had it for 7 years...we'll buy new furniture when we marry & move.

Those cheap frames that come in a set are a great idea. If they get ruined, no big loss!

I think if you put a pretty light in a bathroom it also makes a huge difference. I HATE the lights in my bathroom, but right now there are so many other things we need that those are low on our list.
I also think if you hang inexpensive pictures they do just fine.

We have a skylight in our bathroom so I cant really add overhead lighting. Im not crazy about the lights over the medicine cabinet but I dont want to spend the money to have an electrician come in to put in the sconces I would want.

I have a few small walls where about a 1/3 is not tile but completely empty. I definitely want to put some shelves up for storage, etc.. but Im trying to figure out what else Im going to put in before I put the shelves up.

I really hate our cabinet under the sink and medicine cabinet so we will probably change those when we redo our kitchen b/c it will be easy to order the replacement cabinet at the same time. But Im not sure how to make the room look a little more personal. Its pretty small so any added touches would have to be on the walls.

For the small bathroom:

Our bathroom is very small, we have a pedestal sink so no storage there. We added a natual wood overjohn cabinet, and we have a sunken/hidden medicine cabinet behind our mirror.

To keep as much of a spacious feeling as possible I kept the walls white and use a sheer fabric shower curtain. My bath mats and waste basket are my favorite color (purple) and I made a cute curtain for the window using a grapevine fabric.
