Re: How do you feel about
I actually did two papers on this in college. I took oppositte sides each time so I really know a lot about the subject. My opinion is different in different situations. I am definately against cosmetics testing. However, when mice are purposely bred, and genetically altered say to get tumors and then anti-cancer drugs are tried on them, I am for this type of testing. I guess I take both sides. Like I said I wrote argument papers for Both sides and there are some points I agree with from each point of view.

I think its bad. If there are methods that can be done without using animals, they should be done instead.
Definately.

Did you ever hear of 'Friends of Washoe' in Washington state? It's a sanctuary for chimapnzees that have been through Scientific Testing ... There's also a book by the man, Roger Fouts, that started the sanctuary. It's amazing what these animals have been through.

Sorry I didn't give an opinion beacause it's kind of a double edge sword. I feel bad for the animals but if it helps save a human then ... I don't know, it's one topic to really think about.

Re: How do you feel about
THis topic really hurts me. It makes me cry to think what an animal goes threw in these labs. But i have seen what my mother went threw in the hospital...when she had cancer (thank God she is ok now).
If testing on animals will save lives...i think i would have to understand
But not for anything else (i.e....beauty products)

our technology isn't as advance to compare it to testing on live animals.

I get very sad too what these animals have to go through for people to wear materialistic things. There has to be other ways.

Cosmetics testing - no way I can live without 'better' cosmetics. Prefectly happy with what is on the market now.
But, for disease research, I would rather see lives of humans saved than mice. Monkeys, I have a harded problem with. If mice and rats could always be used, my position would be stronger. The monkeys are so much like humans. I guess in some instances, it is a necessary evil.
