Don't do the lips!!!

Botox... I am not sure how I feel about it. I probably would not do it.

I have chicken lips, and was seriously considering collagen.
But, same as Botox, it's only temporary- you have to get it done again every 5 months or so.
Too much $$$ for me.

We inject Botox here at work. It's pretty miraculous, actually.

I am totally for it, and will get some.

Minimal pain - immediate results. No side effects.

only thing is that it lasts only 3-4 months.

You don't need it.

I would definitely do the botox and probably will have to in the near future...but like someone said, the only downfall is that you have to continue to do it. The lips Anita I would not touch...

ETA: My mom is going for an eyelid lift. the top of her eyelids literally droop over her eyes and she is only 50...my grandmother has the same thing and guess what?! I'll probably have to go under the knife as well!

it freaks me out that botox is a derivative of botulism - which is VERY deadly. I just don't want anything like that in my body - just in case!

oh, and collagen - no one really uses that anymore. Most docs inject Restylane now. Better product, no animals byproducts in it. You don't need a skin test for it. Last 6 months.

Injections to the lip are REALLY painful. If you have them done right, and on the conservative side - the results can be very flattering.

I try not to judge other people's decisions about any kind of body modification. I tend to think that no one needs anything unnatural done to them, so I'm no help there.

As a personal choice - I will not be doing any kind of body modification. No botox, collagen, lifts, lipos. If I can't fix it by diet and exercise, I'm not doing it.

I don't know that much about it except that my sister had some botox injected here and there due due to peer pressure from her 40-something friends who want to look like they did when they were 20-somethings.

She looks no better now than she did before, imho.

Nope, def not for me. I'm an all-natural kinda girl and like greenie said, I'll only change what I can fix myself.

I've never met you in person Anita (yet!) but from the pics I've seen you DON'T need any work done!!!

lunatic.

It's my job to know this stuff. The doc I work for injects the stuff everyday.

I haven't had any injections myself... yet.

ps - thanks, I think.

totally agree. that and the whole becoming expressionless from it thing.

As for lips, . I would refrain from anything you don't actually need. If you were burned and had a scar on your face that bothered YOU, then I'd be the first to wish you luck on your surgery.
