ok, so I am new to this board but I want to know what you girls feel about this? Do people kid around with the whole 'bridezilla' thing with you? How do you feel? Are you stressed? I honestly feel calm, I know that there are going to be hiccups along the way,but I def can say I hear other peoples stories and wow!!!. I feel bad and can totally understand them being a bit bridezilla like.

i totally get pissed when ppl call me a bridezilla. ppl outside of the wedding world just don't understand what it's like to plan the biggest day of your life! but i think i am pretty calm about the whole thing too. i admit, i may seem to be freak b/c i get excited every 2 seconds about my wedding but that's natural. which one of us isn't?? so like i hate when ppl call me bridezilla. they're jealous cuz we're ALL gonna have HOTT weddings and they're not!

Well said I totally agree. I am a perfectionist and want everything to be perfect on our day...Can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

It makes me upset when people say 'you have 8 months...' They have no clue how much tere is to do and they think I'm just jumping in to this whole wedding thing to early. Are they f'n kidding me?

errr I definatly have had a few [no actually ONE] bridezilla moment. BUT it wasnt actually a typical bridezilla thing. LONG story but someone basically kinda being rude to me about wedding planning... which she knew NOTHING about. AND its was one of my BMs!!!!
dont take it to heart if someone calls u that. just be calm, everything will fall into place. sounds like youre doing FINE anway!
And BTW- youre wedding is ONE YEAR FROM TODAY!!!!

I get stressed when people use the term bridezilla. Noone has actually called me that but I did run into a few girls I haven't ssen in so long, and when they heard, they were like, 'Are you a bridezilla?' I've been very calm throughout this whole process. I just end up feeling defensive about the term bridezilla b/c I'm not yelling all over the place but I do have a certain vision about what I want for my wedding day. My mom and FMIL already had their weddings so i'm doing what will make me happy.

I feel the same way. I've been pretty calm through this whole process ... Im sure that as the day comes closer, I will have my 'moments' ... but I am a calm person on the outside, and dont usually show my emotions when Im upset (up to a certain point.)
But there is this one girl at work, that everytime she sees me, she asks me if I have become bridezilla yet. .. and when I tell her that everything has been pretty smooth so far, she doesnt understand how Im so calm and how she cant wait until the day comes that I will be bridezilla. it annoys me. Bc SHE was BRIDEZILLA when it was her wedding, she expects me to be bridezilla too. I just cant get over that she constantly reminds me that she 'cant wait to see me be bridezilla' - its like ppl almost want to see you stressed out so that they can talk and laugh at you behind your back .... ugh ....

I get very mad when people tell me to calm down about planning the wedding. I don't feel like I bother anyone with details (I'm a control freak I want to do it all myself). So what do they care if I'm obsessing over BM dresses?

That show has given all of us a bad name. Now I think we have all seen it and I have to say those brides a freakin nuts. I am glad everyone else gets the sly remarks and can't stand them. I say leave us be. I know that these is stress in everything else like buying homes, work, and even for me... leaving home for the very first time. Last to go too =(... but life must begin. =)

I am very high strung in general. Though I have gotten stressed at times I do not feel that I am a bridezilla AT ALL. And no one has called me that. I actually had a BM email me recently to say hat she is here for me with all of the drama going on with my BP right now she sympathizes with me. That's a 1st for any of my BM's.

yes and I hate it. I am really pretty much the anti-bride .. I am very calm and so unstressed .. but the few times I have been called a bridezilla I have gotten really annoyed
