How do you find out....??

How do you find out about Precana and FOCCUS??

I have the whole folder from my church from when we first met with the Deacon. However we told him that Fh would be in Japan until June of 08. Therefore we are going to have to do the Precana that is like 6 hours long on the weekend. But we also have to do FOCCUS.

But the thing is how do I find out when we actually can sign up and do it?? Should I just call the church and ask them or do htey normally call you??

Or do you set up Precana yourself without the church?

Sorry I know I probably should already know this haha

TIA

We had to meet with our priest 3 times and he gave us the foccus thing at the 2nd meeting.

Every church runs their pre canna differently. At mine, they just send you a letter when they have a foccus session coming up or a pre canna session coming up and you call them and sign up. They are very laid back at my church. I know that some churches are much more strict though.

i know FH and I had to sign a sheet about how we met with hte Deacon at first and we scheduled our wedding and rehearsal date...then I had to mail it in. So I did that last week and I guess I can wait another week or 2 and then call and ask to see if we are just waiting until Fh comes home to do anything or if i should schedule the precana and FOCCUS for when he comes home...

well, we met w/ our priest and he told us that our church no longer holds the precana there b/c their host couple no longer does it...so in a cse like this we had to register with the rockville centre diocese...they have a website..i will look for it...once you go to it you can register for a date that works for you

Every church is different. My church which we were originally getting married at offered a pre-cana once a week I think for 3 weeks. They hosted it and it was only $60. When we changed our date we switched to his church and I finally just booked my precana. I had to go through Rockville centre dio. as well. We are doing Aug. 25 and 26th 9-4pm. and it was $250. You can call and ask all churches if they offer it. We have no choice but to do a Sat. and Sun. b/c we are getting married that following week and we were in a bind. I say get it over with as soon as possible. good luck.

we were never told anything about FOCCUS but we signed up for Pre-Cana the first time we met with the priest. We are doing a pre-cana over the course of 2 days this week. Friday night and saturday afternoon.

We just got a new priest at our Parish... we don't even know his name, so i'm not even sure how we go about setting up meetings with him now that our original priest left.
