Is this something that you have to ask for/order specially? They never mentioned it when I ordered my dress and now I don't know how to get one! It's making shoe/veil shopping rather challenging!

I got a swatch for the BM dresses - you have to go through the salon you ordered from, and they'll contact the designer and have a swatch sent.

Where did you order your dress? I asked, they will be mailing it. I would call the store and ask.

Mine took a total of two weeks - but those were Jim Hjelm BM Dresses - I don't know about wedding dresses - but, it shouldn't take long at all.

I did it about two months AFTER we ordered the dresses.

Okay, thanks. I do need a swatch of my dress and it's been over two months since I ordered. The BM dresses are not ordered yet, so I'll be sure to ask when they place the order.

So, I just called and apparently my designer doesn't do swatches. They said I just have to wait for the dress to come in. Does that sound right???

I got our BM dresses from them, and my salon gladly sent me a swatch.
I don't know if it's the same for bridal dresses, but try calling another bridal salon that carries them and see if your bridal salon is BS'ing or telling the truth.

That's a good idea. While I was on the phone they checked on my dress arrival. As it turns out it's due in next week anyway, so that's good at least. I just still don't know because I don't want to buy my veil there as I'm sure I can get one much more moderately priced elsewhere, and it's not like I can carry the dress with me to go try on veils. aargh!
