I think that would be awesome....that way you get exactly what you want...especially if you can't find on that you fall in love with.

I had my sweet 16 dress made and although the dress came out good, the process itself was annoying. You never really know how it's going to come out until it's finally done. The way you picture it in your head may not be the same exact way the seamstress pictures it. This is just my personal opinion. BUt I know a girl who had her dress made for her wedding.The dress itself ended up costing just as much as the designer gown she was trying to copy.

I had my prom dress custom made...it came out exactly how I wanted. And after going to about 5 bridal shops...I'm actually considering a custom made wedding dress as well.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Their are alot of seamstress that can replicate or design their own gowns. If you find the right person then I would say go for it

I orginally thought that I was going to get my dress made but I found my perfect dress with for a great price. I just dont know how expensive would it be compare to buying

I was going to get my dress made but decided against it. I wanted to recreate a kenneth pool dress but i was afraid of how it might turn out. My dress maker is great but i was so paranoid that she'd mess up what i wanted. But don't let that stop you. I was just paranoid.

I am having mine custom made by Valentina's Bridal in Brooklyn. I tried on MOE dress but did not like the dropped waist and flowers that are on it. The consultant recommended I have the designer there custom make it to what I wanted. He sketched it out for me and went through the details. He makes his own creations for the salon. I cant wait to see it.

I honestly wouldnt know what i want...it would probally turn out to be a disaster! lol

I have been going back and forth with getting my dress made. Only because I really did not want to bother going to these bridal salon looking for a dress. It has not been as bad as I thought. I have a recommendation if you need. Her name is Pinnina some brides from this board have used her. She a reputation of being the Vera Wang of Uptown.

I originally thought about it because I was just in a wedding in october 2007, where my friend had her dress made.... however, I fell inlove with one and didn't have to go that route

As long as you have plenty of time to make changes, why not? It will be exactly what you want in every way!
