how do you guys KNOW what to dress to get for your shower?
Here's the thing, I have a million dresses in my closet. I have one in mind b/c I think mine will be in January or February (it's longed sleeve).
But I don't know where it is...I think FH will make up something and if I think it's let's say , a baby christening, I might dress differently.

i gave the dress that i purchased for the shower to my sister. she will have the dress & shoes there for me to change into.

My mom was with me when I bought my dress. I asked her if it was too formal and she just told me no that's it's perfect and that my shower's 'not in a backyard'

ya know that day I will probably know due to registry so I 'll just dress up lol... and I know FH, he will make up a story to dictate dress code...

I'm gonna give my mom the dress and shoes and a makeup bag. Regardless of what I'm wearing, I'll change into it! I figured it's MY shower so I could wear whatever want! My mom was with me when I got these amazing red shoes, and she was like, 'but you doln't know where your shower is...' and I told her that I don't care if it's in a bowling alley, THOSE are what I'm wearing to my shower!

i gave the dress that i purchased for the shower to my sister. she will have the dress & shoes there for me to change into.
This is what my mom told me to do. She doesn't really want me to know the date of it.

I'm sorry, I'm kind of confused ... I'm sort of an outsider here and maybe they do things differently where i'm from in Michigan.
Do people never know when their shower is going to be? Is it always a suprise?

It's not always a surprise but a lot of times it is. Some brides are involved in planning their shower and others don't know a thing about it. I would say that most of the showers are a surprise (or attempted surprise).

I just bought one, nothing too fancy. I know when mine is b/c I didn't want to pretend to be surprised b/c I knew that I'd probably figure it out when someone 'invited' me somewhere. It's still during winter so I got a cowl neck sweater dress.

i opted not to have a surprise shower so i know where the shower is
BUT it is your shower it doesn't matter if you are over dressed you are the guest of honor!!!!

I will know the date so I will be able to wear the dress I want. I should say I assume I will know the date, I work as a nurse so I would have to request that day off, unless my mother or bridal party are sneaky and talk to my boss without my knowing. Schedules are made in advance.

I gave my shower dress to my sister ( MOH) when I went to my shower I said Hello to everyone then changed I never took my coat off .

This is totally what I'm doing too - and I need to start looking! I feel like L&T will have some good dresses!
