This is so hard, its too early on to really tell anyone - according to websites, Im 4-5 weeks. I want to wait to atleast hear the heartbeat before I start spreading the news...
How did everyone hold this in????

I didn't, I couldn't...so I'm no help but I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS and I'm glad you are able to have this board as an outlet to talk about it until you are ready to make 'the big announcement' to everyone.

Re: How do you keep it a secret?
I must admit, I never had a problem keeping it a secret for those 3 months. Even when we found out it was twins. It was sort of sweet that DH and I had this wonderful secret that only we knew. It also gave us some time to get used to it. DH had a much harder time keeping it a secret, though. Every other day he wanted to tell somebody!

Same here, but I didn't find out I was PG until I was 6 weeks along and I had already been to the docotr and saw the heartbeat! So it made it easier to spill the beans!!
Congrats, can't wait to find out your identity.

I didn't keep it a secret very long. I figured even if something God forbid had happened I would need my mom and good friends support anyway. It was fun telling everyone.

Please we told everybody - immediately - before even going to the doctor let alone wait for the heartbeat.
I figured, we told everybody we loved and they would understand if something went wrong. We only told people we knew would be sensitive and behave appropriately if God forbid anything bad happened.

Re: How do you keep it a secret?
We kept it a secret until 12 weeks. I loved just sharing it with my DH in the beginning. It was such a sweet time for us. If we would have lost the baby, we would have told after the fact, but didn't want to have to deal with 'letting down' our excited family and friends if they already knew. Hope that makes sense.

Re: How do you keep it a secret?
It was very hard keeping it a secret even for a second. We did tell family early on (about 6 weeks) then friends at 2.5 months. My partner was the first to know at 4 weeks. I figured if something was going to happen then I would want family and friends around to comfort me. I was just too excited anyway

Re: How do you keep it a secret?
It was very hard! I only told a few close friends and immediate family first, then my other relatives on Christmas when I was about 8 wks. Everyone else found out after the 12 wk mark!
