I have the scented oil plugins in every room of the house. Plus, I'm constantly lighting candles.

I love candles too, but I feel like in the summer it's too hot to have them lit all over the place, even with the AC on. I'm going to try the plug-ins!

Hopefully my house doesnt stink but I dont do very much in that regard. Candles only get lit when I want to set a mood, and even then they are usually unscented. Cant take overwelming candle smells.

Tarts... and in the fall, i put a little water and some rosemary in the burner that smells great, and in the winter i do the same thing with fresh pine from the christmas tree

Suzanne - I do the same thing...in the fall/winter I simmer cinnamon sticks, nutmeg & allspice. Yummmm.

Mostly candles. (Yankee Candle's 'Clean Cotton' being my favorite.)

FIL have been putting lava rocks into their closets to absorb the odors and dampness (it's been a very damp summer) and they rave that they work.

candles and Plug In's.

But really, just washing does wonders. I lOVE the smell of freshly washed sheets and clothes!!!!!

Deby - I never heard of lava rocks. How do they work? Where do you get them? My home is very damp and I am always looking of ways to combat the 'damp' smell.

I use candles all the time.

I also use the furniture polish that is lemon scented and people tell me a lot that the house smells 'lemony'

I bought a candle at Ikea the other day and it smells up my half bath so nicely and I still have not lit it yet. Its been a few weeks and its still going strong. The candle was only a dollar and some change.


I also like the room sprays at pottery barn. Of course I always catch those on sale

Yankee Candle makes room deoderizer versions of all of their scents. If it's too hot to light anything you can spray it instead. Jenny, I know they have Clean Cotton because I use it all the time!

open the windows Any strong smelling candle or perfume will bother my allergies, so I don't use anything. When I need to give the rooms some air, I just open the windows
