How do you know if the wait staff tip is included in your contract?

How do you know if the wait staff tip is included in your contract?

I'm so confused with this. Is it in the 'service fee'? I don't have my contract in front of me (still at work) but all I remember discussing when we signed it was the general tips for the BA and BM (I think SC uses a BM in lieu of a Maitre D).

Help.

I have asked my BM what is this gratuity fee that we are paying. he said this is for the wait staff. and then explained that the MD and the captains dont participate in that so their tip is up to our discretion and usually is $3-5

SC includes Waitstaff, Valet Parking, Coat Check in their 18% Service Charge. They recommend a tip to the Maitre D of $3 - $5 a person and Bridal Attendant of $100 - $150.
