I don't know if I have a migraine or just a really bad headache.
I'm kinda dizzy and slightly nauseous. All i want to do is curl up on a couch.
I hate cowing down to FMIL, but i feel so shitttty that I might ask her if i can leave early.
ETA: I took advil and it's not working

Nausea + piercing pain due to sunlight, lamps, computer, TV...that's the signs for me. Feel better!!!

Try drinking Mountain Dew or coffee...the caffiene will make the Advil work faster.

i never had one but G gets them all the time - he says the pressure is horrific on his head and even the light and noise bother him.......he sleeps them off usually after sleeping for like 8 hours and taking migraine medicine he was prescribed......
If its bad enough where you can't tolerate the phone rining, your MIL complaining, etc..... , then I would def go home......take some advil or Excedrin Migraine and sleep!!!!!!

the only thing that helps when i have a migrane is sleeping.
I can tell I am getting one because sound and light are just painful..

I see a neurologist for my migraines. When I get them I need to be in a dark room. It hurts to lift my head and it feels like it 's going to explode.

for me its usually the pain, nausea, and light makes me want to stab my eyes out. If complete darkness gives you any kind of relief.. its a migrane.

I get them ALL the time... it bl ows.. and they can't figure out why I get them (I have one building right now).
drink water and or gatorade... no tea (hi, i'm a teaholic) the tea will dehydrate you and you need overhydrate...
advil won't work. at least it doesn't for me. only thing that works on me is midol. I swear by it. has to be extra strength (extended release) though.
light and sound doesn't always effect/cause a migraine. like I'm rarely effected by light, but my friends husband (he also gets chronic migraines) the second he has a migraine he has to lock himself in a pitch black room or he throws up.
dizzyness and nausea go with the migraine, but that could be caused by dehydration.
I'd ask to go home early. stop at 7-11 and get a big bottle of Gatorade, the electrolytes will help, then plop on the couch and watch some tv.

ITA - I start to see spots...and I usually have tunnel vision with a migraine (so not fun), and light/sound extremely bothers me and my head hurts so much that I want to open it up and just scoop my brain out (sounds gross, but that is seriously how I get). If you do have a migraine...the only thing that works for me is Excedrin Migraine....feel better!

honestly, if you are having a migraine, it's only going to get worse - go home, lay on the couch with the blinds drawn and doze.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all your tips and tricks. I'm going to try and stick it out maybe another 10 minutes and then cut out for the day.
